  This was my 'Sign'

  in my previous post i mentioned that i'm staying in the org because i think i got a sign from god...some of you asked a lot of questions about my sign and even shared the society's view on asking for signs which i didn't know.. i didn't disclose exactly what the sign was.. some of you asked me what it was and even stated that i know that you all would pick apart and prove that my sign was just a frivolous excuse to hold on to the org.. maybe you were right.. so i've decided to tell you all exactly what it was---no embellishments or exaggerations.

  i would love to hear your opinions since i'm still in a terrible mess.sometimes i'm 100% this is not the truth then other times i'm 60%....i feel if god was giving me a sign i'd be 100% this is the truth you know?.

  so i woke up that morning and organized to go meeting.

  I would assume that for many of us who believed wts, coming to the conclusions that we had, didn't happen over night. Personally, I found out about wts involvement with UN probably three or four years prior to my DA. I believed they screwed up but still thought it was the truth. Then I found out about child abuse settlements and again wts covered it up but it still was the truth because we were the only ones preaching about Jehovah and paradise earth - right? But then I found Russell's book and after reading it I knew that this whole thing was a con but it took me another year of research to finally write a DA letter and still at that point I didn't want to call wts a cult but that it had cult like characteristics.

  As you research more and compare actions of wts to that of other Christian cults, you will see a lot of similarities and as you step outside of the box you can clearly see how wts operates and that it in fact is a cult for which we've wasted our best years of our lives. It has taken away our opportunities, enjoyments of real life, it destroyed our marriages and for many it has destroyed entire family circles.

  If you want a clearer understanding of dates and 607BC, start with Thy Kingdom Come. You'll understand what Russell actually taught and what wts taught regarding dates for over 50 years. If you don't have a problem reading xJW material as it appears you don't, you should read Carl Olof Jonnson's book, Gentiles Times Reconsidered. You'll be provided with enough secular material to see that 607BC is pure fiction but not only that, but wts knows it and are deceiving their own members regards to this date. Here's Jonnson's web site with his latest rebuttal to wts 607BC articles which you can read in pdf format at the bottom of his page. I strongly recommend reading Gentile Times Reconsidered.

  Here's some info that you will discover when and if you do research on 607 myth.

  From Russell's Thy Kingdom Come (Studies in the Scriptures Vol3)

  1799 - Last Days began
  1874 - 6000 years ended. Jesus returned invisibly. Most important date for WTS
  1878 - Jesus was enthroned in heaven. Heavenly resurrection began.
  1914 - end of gentile times, end of the worldly governments, restoration of Israel.Based on 536BC as date of Cyrus conquering Babylon. Where they assumed the 70 years applied to desolation of Jerusalem thus 606BC came about. (7 times prophesy)
  - that was not the only support for 1914, but also 40 year harvest from 1874 to 1914 was corresponding to 40 years from JC baptism in 30AD to destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans
  - there might have been another one or two supporting factors linking 1874 with 1914

  All of the above dates were linked together by God's stone witness - Pyramid of Giza!!!!! WTS didn't just think these dates we true, they were certain of them and taught and preached these for many years after 1914. In fact, 1874 was officially replaced with 1914 in 1943! But the reasons given for the change evolved to what is taught today.

  They faulted KJ bible for 100 years and also that there was no 0 year between 1BC and 1AD.
  Today, Cyrus conquest of Babylon in 539BC is a pivotal year! Remember, Russell believed it was 536 (3 year difference).

  But remember, 606/607BC had nothing to do with JC's return!!! It was the 6000 year calculation, so why didn't wts change 1874 to 1975 if the end of 6000 years had to do with the return of Christ?

  Ya, 1914 was much more convenient to sell to the gullible public since WWI took place in that year! That is why we are told today that Russell pointed to 1914, some 40 years prior as if he had some foreknowledge. Today, no one at the door hears the real story behind 1914 and 1874, but the lie that the watchtower foreknown some 40 years prior to WWI. They are told that JC was to return invisibly and the householder is presented with "proof" how wts knew the war would take place. You show the householder some out of context BS that WTS pointed to 1914 and this impresses the householder as if wts was right! "The war did happen! JWs may know something, maybe I should listen to more what they have to say." Hell, as a kid I was impressed by this deception.

  Letter from elders to WT about Jonathan Kendrick and the WT response

  It's odd that there is no wts letterhead on the reply.

  From what I see, the letters from elders to wts implied that the wife and daughter were not very good spiritually thus they would like to sweep this thing under a rug if they could but may have to deal with this because the daughter told someone. Poor MS brother married to almost a worldly.

  While touching breast may not seem as that big of a deal and in most cases it would be unclean conduct, the problem here is that the girl was 15 and the way he came to her room and touched her suggests that if that was his first time, he had a problem and should have sought help. Otherwise he may have done this in the past, and what his action suggests is that he may have been testing the waters as it were - had the girl said nothing to her mother, he may have gone further than just touching her breasts at some future period.

  The wts response (again odd there is no wts letterhead on it) appears to equate his actions with fondling an adult female. Since this was in '93 and not '73 I think their response was totally wrong, it's silly to suggest that was a "minor uncleanness" since it has taken place with a minor child which actions suggest the man may be a pedophile, or has inclination to abuse a minor in the future. They have not suggested anything meaningful nor have they given proper advise how to deal with this. I don't know what the secular laws were at the time in CA, but had this been a proactive organization with very "aggressive policies" regarding child abuse this letter would have been written totally differently.

  But again, the child and mother were inactive so obviously there was no need for a jc but had she been active and he was any other religion the advice may have been different, but then again, they don't have a problem with wives being abused for years since it may lead to the husband becoming a dub who knows what the letter would look like.

  If you want a sign ask for specific sign, date and hour and something specific. If there is a God who actually cares and answers prayers that shouldn't be that big of a deal. You may have to try on several occasions because I will guarantee you, you won't hear nothing from him, but just to be certain maybe pray for a sign several times so you're convinced there is either and answer or there isn't.

  Anyways, your sign is no sign at all but the crises of conscience and the struggle within you to decide what is the real truth. You want wts to be right so you don't want to let go of the idea but you also realize that there are problems, big problems that you just can't sweep under a rug and move on.

  Since you're pioneering, how do you feel when you place magazine that have misquotes or outright lies? Can you possibly tell a householder that JC returned in 1914 based on 607BC date when there is no evidence to support it? Do you feel honest about telling people in service that wts is |God's org when they've done so much damage to their members through deception, lies, coverup and even let their people suffer only to change their view on the matter later making the past persecution pointless.

  If you have questions, ask them and seek answers with proof. Obviously some answers may not have proof, like I can't prove to you there is no God, but again you can't prove there is God either.

  You are still under the wts influence where you're afraid and feel guilty inside of questioning wts. Do a real research, be honest with yourself and be honest with the people who you meet at the doors. They deserve to know the whole truth if they actually want to learn what wts teaches. Denying them the complete knowledge of wts history like 1874, 1925, 1975... is being dishonest with the public. I know I wasn't told any of this when I was recruited, and that is one main issue that I have with wts.

  They must have been very busy answering phone calls regarding this since in 07 it took them several months before they posted anything regarding child abuse.

  When one looks at their "very aggressive policy" one notices that elders deal with this first and foremost which obviously is not their field of expertise nor are they trained for this. Now, how long does it take to meet with the accused and who may deny? Get another meeting to get the victim in the same room. Now if unfortunate victim doesn't have a second witness to the crime, too bad for them. Ok this may take days if not weeks to get accomplished.

  "If However, even if the elders cannot take congregational action, they are expected to report the allegation to the branch office of Jehovah's Witnesses in their country, if local privacy laws permit. In addition to making a report to the branch office, the elders may be required by law to report even uncorroborated or unsubstantiated allegations to the authorities. If so, the elders receive proper legal direction to ensure that they comply with the law. Additionally, the victim or anyone else who has knowledge of the allegation may wish to report the matter to the authorities, and it is his or her absolute right to do so."

  1. WTF!!! When did that ever stop them from reporting to the mother? If anyone has ever heard of this taking place I would like to know about it.

  2. Elders will report to authorities if they have to and are told by their lawyers to do so, otherwise they keep their mouth shut!!!

  3. They can tell the victim they may report this to the authorities but "you know, this will bring reproach on God's organization and you know how Satan loves to reproach God's name. So if you must go ahead and report." ;)

  Then they give an example when a pedophile may be allowed to be appointed, but it's funny they use an 18 year old having sex with a 15 year old, obviously it wouldn't sound good if they used a 30 year old having sex with a 9 year or and be allowed to be MS few years later.

  It's odd that the elders knew about Kendricks for some time, didn't tell the authorities nor its members, didn't kick the guy out and wts claims they're not responsible even though they advised the elders what to do. If there was a hell, I would wish they all would go there. Any PR man that can stand there and claim innocence is a disgusting, repulsive human being!

  i wonder how jws will react to this recent evidence that intelligent man existed at least 22,000 years before adam and eve arrived on the scene?.

  it looks like membership will continue to decline as far as intelligent jws are concerned.

  i'm sure there will be plenty of society's bottom feeders who will continue to find their way on to the jw publisher lists.

  Carbon dating or any othe dating can't be trusted. Satan wants us to believe humans are older than 6000 years so he blinds the minds of unbelievers. Demons planted it there. Scientists often change their views and can't be trusted.

  For most JWs, the only evidence they need is what is found in wts publications.

  I doubt calling Bethel would accomplish anything but contacting politicians and requesting a change in policies that would require all soliciting agents to have background checks done which should include all religious ministers.

  JW claim to be all ordained ministers of god, without clergy class which is odd that they had got away with clergy penitent privilege excuse in the courts before. In fact, I may write to my MP and ask him what the laws are regarding this very thing and see if there is any way to put some safety nets into the system that would protect the public from convicted and known pedophiles.

  JWs are better than the rest so why would they need background checks. They have spiritual paradise, they all worship Jehoover so obviously they are clean people that don't need to abide by worldly rules.

  Besides, when a group recruits either youth or adults who often have problems, the risks are great that getting background checks now would reveal a lot of undesirable traits about present jws. Now he future repercussion is that less of them would join. So not only would there be less willing recruiters, there would be less being recruited.

  As a cult, they have to create and maintaing a control mechanism where their followers do as they're told. Softening the df rule isn't going to happen because what if you could talk to your df son or mother anytime you wanted to, what if you could talk to your friend who was just df? Well, what's the big deal if you decide to do something that might get your df?

  Simple, if df'ing is ineffective in controlling sheeple then more will do as they please and soon you'll have many walkng away from the cult without fear of losing friends and loved ones.

  Another point is that df aren't on the same level as apostates. DF ones can be kicked down and pushed around by wts bullies knowing these people will try to come back and believe that df is for their own good. Apostates don't take this shit from them, and we are viewed not as df might be- even though some have been df, but rather apostates are viewed as ones to be feared of corrupting jws' faith - since their faith is based on load of shit and obviously can't stand to any questioning wts tries to keep jws from any and all communication with apostates.
