yes, what was the biggest lie that you can think of, that persuaded you to realize that they were not who they said they were ?.
for myself it would have to be the year they picked as the destruction of ancient jerusalem 607 bc.. i have an assumption this was done purposely to coincide correctly with making 1914 an a important pivotal date.
in human history, which by all factual evidence it was not.. unassuming and deceiving manipulation for self marketing purposes.

Here's a Brooklyn Eagle Nov 28, 1916 clip of Russell's death announcement and that he had 30,000 shares. I tried to make the scan a bit better to read. The "30,000" had a line through it so I couldn't make it appear any clearer but it is in the heading. Also this was from inside source so many not be 100% factual as to the true shares that Russell had at his death. Russell's will in Dec 1916 wt doesn't speak of shares so any additional info needs to be posted to support any statements besides these. I never seen any info how many shareholders besides Russell held shares in the corporation and the full amount of shares issued. Any additional documentation on this issue would be appreciated but I can't take someone's word for it as it were a fact. Russell died with $200 in his bank account which was peanuts but that was what he was willing to give to his "ex" which was almost a slap on a face as he hid all his assets under a religious banner from which he derived his living and not a bad living at that. So in a similar manner I assume that today's GB don't have a bid bank account but all their expenses are paid for by wts, so if they want to go on a holiday they are covered, if they need a new car to drive, it is covered by wts. They don't live like kings but being uneducated and old this is the best thing going for them. They need to cover up their lies with more lies to suppoer their old age lifestyle. I still don't get the lawyers how they can be doing all this work for free without some sort of monetary compensation knowing they lies that they are hepling to cover up.

I don't know where you get 50 shareholders. I would have to check more info but to my unserstanding if I remember correctly wts had some 50,000 shares outstanding and Russell had some 47,000 of them and therefore was shown that Russell and wts could be used interchangeably as per Broklyn Eagle vs Russell. At the time Russell also had a holding company where homes and property would go while people who donated were still alive in case they wanted it back and after their deaths the properties were transfered over to wts or became fully owned by the holding company. This holding company had something like 1000 shares outstanding and Russell owned 990 or so of these. Like I said it's been a while since I've done the research so I could be off on some but I know it wasn't 50 original shareholders. I thing it was argued in the Brooklyn Eagle libel suit about donations and shares released as there was something stipulated about getting a share in wts for every $10 donated but the shares were never given out because people never requested these shares thus was assumed the doners never cared for the shares, something to that effect. Since in the beginning Russell owned 90+% of the shares and that was passed onto Rutherford or fell under wts officers upon Russell's death I don't see how there would be many shareholders that would have an actual say in anything other that one or handful of people who would have aquired Russell's share of ownership. If you have some actual documentation please share it with us as to how you come up with 50 shareholders and if there is that many how many shares are there outstanding now????
ps: I donated $250 for KH fund and $250 for www and that's a year for a family of 3. I think we contributed like $20 for assemblies, maybe $50 max for the family for a convention. Maybe others can share their donation amounts but they couldn't squeeze more out of me as I never believed a religion need much cash as God would provide if they needed more :) Wasn't that what Russell said?
as i did not have the opportunity and it was not necessary for me to write a letter of disassociation, this matter afforded me the chance to do so to some degree.. i have rewritten it here with names altered, and it was handed to my elder jw neighbour before he went to the tabernacle this morning.
i informed him anyone is most welcome to read it and to please be sure to distribute it to the appropriate congos in the area.. .

Russell was a businessman moving assets so his wife wouldn't get her share when the divorce came, there had to be something disfunctional in the marriage from the start that they were to refrain from sexual relationships. Russell most likely believed some part of his wierd ideas at least until 1914 and afterwards may have just continued on as not to look as a fool to his following. Rutherford, was a truely evil man and maybe even learned Russell's true beliefs at the end of Russell's life that their beliefs were bogus and Rutherford chose to take power and abuse it for his own good. As little is known about the presidents that followed it can be assumed that they with the rest of GB know there are lies taught but are kept secret as unspoken matters. GB is made up mostly of old men who are not well educated and by the time they enter that position must feel like they're owed something by the society thus they continue with the crap and adjust teachings that will make r&f understand why the end hasn't arrived yet. I view them as truely evil men, not on the same scale as Stalin but in that that they hide the truth from others and continue advancing the idea of preaching this garbage to the public and outlawing free bible discussions. Dumb & dumber is their motto as they reason that higher education is bad, good living is bad, free thinking is bad and only brain dead dubs will make a paradise earth for they will follow the gb off the cliff if need be.
With being as old as they are the question is where do the lawyers fit into the picture and what do they gain out of it as I can't imagine them not getting something material out of it. Can they honestly be that dumb that they ignore the facts that they must have seen many times before tham how wts hurts peple and how it lies to so many good people? at worst it is far darker.. anyhow, i understand why an exjw would be cautious to join another organisation.. however, god does have one and it is called the church.. .

I never heard of the Australia inncident before, was there a reason why they came out and confessed? I can't see why they would do it without some external reason for it.
I've heard the 1975 half ass apolagy but mostly a blame shift. If I remember correctly Rutherford said he made an ass of himself about 1925 fiasco but I don't remember the whole story behind that remark.
Usually wts will change their view and instead of apolaging will make a comment that it's upto witnesses' conscience to decide as to the matter, that way it doesn't look like GB changed their mind but gives the responsibility to the rank and file in actually having a choice on the matter.
