good one lol, you're wrong there. I've looked and prayed for the truth when I discovered I've been conned by wts but like I said, praying to Jehovah, Jesus or the wind results in same sort of result - nothing.

"What would it take for you to believe that?" and you would say, "He would need to tell me, speak to me." To which I would respond, "GREAT! Let's DO that! Call me and let's go there!" to which YOU would say, "Uh, naahhhh, I don't believe it WILL happen..." or "Ummmm, no, I'm not ready for that, yet"... "so no, I won't call you." And you won't. I have been through THAT... more times than I can number, dear one, so I think I can safely say that with certainty.

So you're saying that Jesus would answer someone, but they would need to call you to hear him or his answer? Doesn't that sound a bit odd, wouldn't you say? Wouldn't you say that many putting faith in Jesus looking for answersd don't seem to get any voices and it doesn't matter how strong their faith is but certain individuals like yourself do? So, it's not true I wouldn't take you up on the offer but if Jesus cannot speak to me directly why in the world would I or anyone else need to contact you to hear Jesus speak to them, that just doesn't make sense! Why would Jesus answer me now and not when I was seeking him for help? So it's no wonder that people don't take you up on the offer, after all you could also call them since Jesus would give the vital information to contact them personally if he wanted to which would also strengthen the other individual's faith, wouldn't you say?

After all, you could at least use people's real names when directing your comments to them since you at least would be privy to that info from the lord and maybe people would take you a bit more seriously ;)

i believe that most dubs remain because of the investment they have made to the "truth".

as soon as men become a ms or an elder they have bought in and can no longer express any doubts felt.

then promotion through full time "service" means an increase in authority over those below and control by those above.

The GB that Ray knew I think are all gone. And what COC said about these men was based on knowledge of them 30 years ago. GB was fairly new as they were given equal say in 1976 if I remember correctly thus those years maybe they were still believing in their own selves and all the nonsense while today, 30 years later we don't really have any idea if they believe their own nonsense. We don't have any insight into their meetings how they changed and how they operate and how or why they vote on changes. 30 years have passed and many things have changed with meetings, beliefs and arrangements so we can assume that GB routine has also changes somewhat and maybe their view on their teachings have also changed but anything suggested is pure speculation. Are they there for secure retirement, power and inner fame or if they really stay there because they believe their teachings. We don't know and won't know until maybe another GB decides to free himself and/or humbles himself and speaks out.

WTS suckered some of us who were young and naive, some of us were going through rough patch in our lifes and their BS soothed the pain and some were searching for understanding of God when wts got to these - while others were born into that filth of a religion. So when we did awake we obviously started to examine reality vs fantasy and god seems to be closer to fantasy than reality so many have chosen to either be agnostic or athiests. So wts maybe as powerful as any other cult that snares a victim but it has to do more with victims who allowed themselves to be snared.

There are those claiming to be connected to Jesus, Buddha or whatever other BS god there is and in reality these people are in fantasy world. You say, that Jesus speaks to you but you can't prove a single thing that noone knows outside the questioning source and what a god or jesus would be able to tell you regarding the information looking for. You quote the bible and give your version of interpretation and so do many other religious people - so what? There is as much evidence of god as there is evidence of aliens and in fact the alien explanaition is more believable to a reasonable individual than god story. If I ask you for something that no one knows but only Lord (if he existed) would be able to tell you, you will say that I want a miracle or I'm testing god and I shouldn't and yet bible says to test god but delusional people will imagine that god answered them in some odd way. If God exists, he can through whatever sourse answer a prayer that is definite not an imaginary excuse that many delude themselves with (we heard enough of these delusional signs of prayers being answered at dub assemblies). Reality is that people can pray to a cross, a rock or a wall or to an invisible god and they will obtain same answer - silance.

I don't have a problem with you imagining that you are hearing Jesus' voice and all the best with that if that's what makes you feel good but most of us here are not buying into it. If you ever told us something that would be extraordinary that would make us change our minds maybe more people would take you for real. Surely, if Jesus was for real he could help people to rekindle their faith again and not through quoting the bible. Afterall, is it possible not that many people put faith in Jesus in the first century was because the bible Jesus never existed and never performed all these miracles claimed but the few tricks that the real Jesus performed were stretched into being miracles after he died by few of his followers and this teaching spread and the Christianity grew on a belief that was invented be men?

What Is The Watchtower Afraid Of?

if you follow the current nonsense being taught by the society, in its latest magazines and assembly parts, there seems to be a dominant theme about near worship of the "faithful slave" and tiresome nagging about 'obey, obey, obey'.. my unanswered question is: why?.

if they were the empire in star wars, i would expect to hear dark-robed members of the evil governing body muttering about " a disturbance in the force".. anyhow, what has changed to generate this sudden demand for obedience to their supposed authority?

some years ago, they panicked after contributions collapsed in the 'voluntary donation arrangement'.

Time is their worst enemy. The longer "this system" drags on, the more likely it will be that more and more will fade, disassociate themselves and they will have less people willing to join their BS group. Time is what they fear so they must adapt to the reality that we're almost at 100 years since the revised second coming of Chirst and there is no paradise. Not only are they spending more time selling BS with fewer results, they also have today's technology to fight against as it's so much easier for new ones and awakening dubs to finds wts old publication, past doctrinal changes and the many scandels that GB keeps hidden from the general public. Their religion was based on limited time and they can strech it out only so far and time is running out.

I vote for dissolvement of WTS with the rest of religions all together. If there is a god surely he will manifest himself as some point to bring people to him otherwise there there is no point to praying to the wind. One can pray to an invisible god or a stone outside and the results will be identical - no answer.

If it's seperate entity, do they pay taxes on it or is it tax free? And if it's not seperate entity but run out of their bethals shouldn't they pay taxes on this and if not how can they be a charitable organization while at the same time running an insurance business?

I don't know too much about this arrangement so anyone adding info to this would be great. All I know is that KHF recieves money from monthly congregation contributions and they cover khs but also money was used to pay out victims of elder abuse or other things that needed to be handled quietly.

Kind of funny, I thought of this the other day. IMO there is no evidence of either BUT one could make a stronger case for aliens than god. This way one could explain why all the evils are occuring and why god doesn't do anything about it. Theoratically one could claim that life or humans were planted here and only so often can aliens come back or so, thus we haven't seen their presence on earth. IMO a better BS story than loving God placing us here, needing thousands of animal sacrifices and finally needing a death of his son to save mankind only to see 2000 years pass by with no action on his parts as mankind continues to suffer from sickness, war and death. To think about it, one could start a religion and print magz, have tax exempt organization and travel the world without a penny in the bank account while this organization covers all the costs of one's life style.

Insurance may be KH fund which they may view as insurance from wt$. They have unqualified people there and most of these people prbably don't even think what if something happened to them who would cover the bills? If someone died, what would the kids get? A golden handshake and a smile that daddy or mommy will be there in paradise. Can't believe that government will not look deeper how to charge these people with something. If workers comp doesn't investigate this that's a scary thought.

Change in meeting attendance procedure - can't figure out why though

per a recent letter to elders:.

beginning september 1, there will be a change to the way attendance is recorded at congregation meetings.. currently, attendance is counted at 4 of the 5 meeting (public talk, wt study, congregation "bible" study, and service meeting).. but after sept. 1, meeting attendance will only be taken at 2 of the meetings - during the "first quarter" of the wt study, and also at the cbs.. .

no reason in given for the change in the letter, and i can't figure out why myself.. the numbers are not published anywhere - the only "official" record is a 6 month average the co puts together during his visit.. why request less information from the congregations, especially when it "costs" nothing to accumulate it in the first place?

Maybe there aren't enough males reaching out for a privilege of being a MS and maybe they're loosing more MS in this ungratifying waste of time. They're already eliminated a mag attendant (not sure of the proper title), now less counting, it looks like they are simplifying work for MS.

In my experience few came in late for the talk and if anyone was to leave they would leave before the wt study. Also if my family was to be late for the meeting we wouldn't go at all so I'm just assuming that an average jw that miss the talk wouldn't bother going just for the wts study.

Counting taking place at odd times may make a push for more local needs talks as to how important meetings are so that people try to stay for entire 2 part meeting instead, but I doubt that would make any difference in regular jw. IMO numbers would have been higher if taked during the first half of the first meeting instead of the latter meeting. There maybe something more down the pipeline but at present I wouldn't read too much into this.

Another idea is maybe this is a small step to eventually eliminating number taking altogether which they could say they are using Jewish principal of not counting the vast multidudes because Jehovah isn't concerned about numbers which would eliminate the lowly dub from recognizing that the anointed numbers are increasing by the year and also that the general growth is stagnant or in decline. If the congregations don't fill the seats the KH will be sold off and congregations merged and the profits from the sale of the buildings will go to WTS.

The two witness rule

suppose an active jehovah's witness sees a worldly person abusing a worldly child; for example, touching her genitals, and the witness goes to the police.

the worldly police will take action.. now, suppose the same jehovah's witness also sees a witness abusing a witness child in the same way, touching her genitals.

the witness knows he can't go to the elders because there are not two witnesses to the fact.. does the witness get to think that there is something very wrong about the two witnesses rule?
