For those who are new, when this forum changed I couldn't retrieve my old avatar back (justhuman), so I made a new, using the same photo and name, but I have added the 14....
So sad news, I even have the PM's from him in my inbox....

That is really sad...I've been to this forum since 2001 and he was one of my favorite posters...although I don't come very often, like I used to, still this forum will be different without him...
R.I.P my friend and hope that you will find peace on mind...

The trampling of Jerusalem didn't begin until AFTER Jesus died (easy way to prove WT waaaay off on everything)
by EndofMysteries inhopefully this doesn't do more bad then good, but it's funny they are going on the destruction of jerusalem in 587/607 time, and appear to have not ever read what jesus said.
luke 21:20-24 - furthermore, when you see jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near.
21 then let those in ju?de'a begin fleeing to the mountains, and let those in the midst of her withdraw, and let those in the country places not enter into her; 22 because these are days for meting out justice, that all the things written may be fulfilled.

The ONLY thing that Russell got right (actually borrowed the idea) was the relocation of the Jews in their homeland, Israel, after 2000 years. Then Booze Jo came and changed that, claiming that the Bible verse was not a fulfillment for the natural Israel, but the "spiritual". In the confused mind of WT leaders everything has 2 meanings and fulfilments. So the entire idea changed and they tried to fullfil the scriptures upon them.
Unfortunately the State of Israel was formed, after the end of WWII, few years after the death of Jo. Since WT gave so much attention (that the Annointed class are the spiritual Israelites) they couldn't go back to their previous teaching, that eventually was correct. At the end of the day a false prophet is false, an evidence that they haven't got a future event correct yet, even though they had the change to show evidence of their "divine guidance", they failed once more by rejecting the relocation of Israel.

"newbie" post - after eight years registered
by pajaha inactually, this is my second post as i replied to a thread a few moments ago, but it turns out i originally registered eight years ago but had never posted.. i left in 2000 (from a newport, s wales, congregation) having been brought up in it from about the age of three.
initially, i was obsessed with research and posting to forums but got over it after a few years and just rediscovered this site a couple of days ago.
i just thought it would be worth posting my account of leaving in case it helped others.. i always considered myself to be "strong in the truth" and genuinely believed it,, but i suppose the amount of suppressed doubts had been mounting up and i think it was the summer of 1999 when i first thought of leaving.

Welcome back dude....and don't make another 8 years to post again.....glad to see your parents out. When I had my Judical session, I left a 4 page letter to the elders asking answers for my questions. Well the declined to answer and one of the elders that was in the Comitee, I found out few years later, that after they have disfellowshiped me he stepped down from being an elder. I don't know if this has to do with me, but I know that he never became an elder again...

Similarities between Roman Catholics and Jehovah`s Witnesses
by smiddy inboth claim to be the sole path to god (or did at some point ).
both claim to reach back to first century christians ,( though jw`s are a bit ambiguous about this).
the r.c church has a pope , the j.w.`s have a governing body ,both providing spiritual food to the faithful.

Catholic Church is a schismatic Church that broke away from the Apostolic Orthodox Church in the year 1040 AD...from the Catholic Church, the Protestands came out, and there we have the thousand branches of extreme Protestand Churches & faiths, and one of them is the WT...
At the end of the day, they all have similarities in structure, but WT has nothing in common, either in faith, or dogma with the Roman Catholic Church

Two close friends of mine, commited suicide, while been JW's. Both suffered severe depression...Now how come an elder, that the majority of them finished High School, and most of all don't have a clue how to handle people with mental issues, since if you wanna kill your self, it means that you need help from an expert, and that is a phsyciatrist, and for sure not someone who just follows a book written 3500 thousand years ago by some Nomads living in the desert in Middle East region...According to WT, the best medicine for all the issues that you might face is:
a. Attend to the meetings
b. Do more field service
c. Read WT's literature
Does this receipe makes sense?

Are They Cynically Shutting Down The Organization?
by metatron ini've raised this idea before but recent events seem to support it.
changes in the watchtower may be guided by more than a need for cash flow: they may simply be liquidating/shutting it down as discreetly as possible.. of course, this doesn't mean they stop working on their upstate ny country club - but it could mean that the throrough going exposure and disproof of their beliefs on the internet, when it emerged, took many of them by surprize, as it did many of us!
after awhile, they generally gave up trying to make any sense of their doctrines - and coupled with cash flow issues - moved towards a quiet retreat.. take a look at a few things:.

I don't think that they will ever shut down the organization. For them is a money making machine. I would describe WT as hotel. People are coming and going and no matter what, clients will always leave money to the reception. So is the WT, plus it has to do with power and control, and that means they will never hand it over to someone else, or just let it go. Just like dictators that are not willing to leave power, so is the GB of the WT....
