KK,
LOL! Yes, although I can't help but think the Python's Spanish Inquisition were somewhat better organised. I bet you'd have prefered their torture cushions to the beatings though.

im from a small backward industrial town in the north of england.
in the 70's when i was a kid no-one had a car.
we used to meet for field service on the street corner and have a pep rally right there, then stand in a circle and say a prayer.

Katiekitten, you crack me up
Are you real, or are you a figment of Alan Bennet's imagination??? Your post reads like one of his talking heads scripts.

there are often threads about pop/rock music...but do you listen to classical or other genres.
so whats your fave...classical piece....opera...ballet...musical.
me... classical....tchaikovsky...1812 overture.
I saw the Swan Lake done by Matthew Bourne recently, the one with the male swans. It was fantastic, powerful and disturbing too. If yer like yer ballet a bit modern like, go and see a Matthew Bourne one if you get the chance.
Classical? I do like Holst's Planets. I like me classical stuff on the slushy side, so anything Rachmaninov or Elgar usually does the trick.

having just had a conversation about musical instruments, i came to the conclusion that 90% of them end up in disuse, maybe even in the attic.
what do you have stored away?.
i have a chanter (the musical part of the bagpipes), recorder, two violins and a penny whistle, hiding somewhere.
1 six string bass guitar
1 synthesizer
1 clasical guitar (in very poor repair)
1 very old & small organ, the kind where the volume decreases the more notes you play, because the sound is produced by an electric pump blowing air through reeds.
Looks like your theory is right.

mine was for giving a sister that i grew up with the watchtower that dealt with birthdays being on the same level as anniversaries.
she quit going because she could not understand the societies position on birthday's.
the elders were mad because i knew how she would react and they thought i did this to cause problems.
drummers eh
Bwaa haa haa! I suspect there speaks the voice of bitter experience.

when is a man no longer a "young man"?
i, for instance, am twenty-eight years old (ignore the avatar) and am still called "young man" to this day, by both people i"ve met in person as well as on this message board.
is it really my age?
If I remember rightly, the four ages of man are:
Lager, Aga, Saga* and Ga-Ga.
So, on that logic, you stop being called "young man" when you become more interested in cast iron stoves, and (slightly) less interested in booze.
Hope this helps.

(*Saga - for the uninitiated, a company specialising in selling holidays and insurance to the over 50s.)
after reading jt stumbler's topic on avatars, i recognised that certain avatars appeal to me, and i'm sure others feel the same.... .
