  Which avatars ''appeal'' to you (credit to jt stumbler)

  after reading jt stumbler's topic on avatars, i recognised that certain avatars appeal to me, and i'm sure others feel the same.... .

  elsewhere (no idea why, gimme a clue), ezekiel3 (says a lot), euphemism (loved the marx bros) and googlemagoogle (so classical) spring to mind, oh, ip_sec's last avatar (the red pyramid) - want to revert back ip_sec?

  oh, and stillajwexelder - after reading your posting on jt stumbler's thread i realise i previously had the wrong impression - lol.

  Crumpet - it's a leather fireproof suit, which I had to wear sometimes for a previous job (part of the job involved working with molten metals at over 1000 C). Why they chose red, I don't know. That part of the factory used to feel like hell - unbearably hot, with lots of little red suited demons running around.

  It was the only digital photograph of myself I had when I joined here, and I've never been bothered to change it so far.

  I really want to assure everyone, I'm not some sort of red rubber fish suit wearing pervert!

  I guess it's just making fun of an obvious difference, like shortness, wearing glasses, being Welsh, having a disability etc. Are we much worse than other nations then? Maybe because Scottish & Welsh people have a slightly higher birth rate for red-headedness? I don't know if that's even true.

  However, let me tell you fellas, there are advantages to having a red-headed partner, if you see what I'm saying, eh, eh, you see what I'm saying, eh, eh, you catchin' my drift, eh, nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat, eh

  JW terminology really gets my goat

  i don't know if its just me or if anyone else feels the same but it really annoys me when jehovahs witnesses use their terminology when speaking to a non jw.. for example, a jw woman is talking to a collegue who has never had a bible study and knows nothing about jws.. instead of saying "i have a friend coming for tea tonight" the woman says " one of the sisters is coming for tea tonight".. or, instead of "i was talking to a friend on the phone last night" she says "i was talking to an elder on the phone last night".. it just really winds me up, i think they do it to seem important and mysterious but it only leaves the other person confused.

  Funchback - Yes I thought I'd remembered that rightly, cheers for the link. It still cracks me up - and the poor girl hasn't learned even after all these years. I also remember one day on a thread lots of people changing their avatars to that clip, the whole page was full of that kid being walloped again and again and again...

  What to wear to the District Convention

  i'm just gearing up to head off to the district convention.

  i was worried about the shunning thing but then realised, how about i just don't wear the uniform, and dress like a study instead?

  with a wig and sunnies none of my people will notice me, and strangers will treat me nicely and share their sandwiches and offer me bible studies.

  Without PICTURES, it's very difficult to tell. So, give us a few snaps of you in both outfits... only has to be from the waist down... just for research purposes you understand

  I suppose it depends on whether you have "covering legs" or "showing legs". You could go for a mini-skirt and purple leggings? It might work...
