Absolute Proof the Watchtower and Governing Body are from God!
by AuntConnie in.
throwing a bone to my fellow jehovah's witnesses needing help defending the teaching god picked the watchtower back in 1919. just trying to make your life easier with a simple explanation, no more complex doctrines, ok.. http://witforjesus.org/images/jwarticles/jwparadox.jpg.

why not try it and if you don't like it, fade :)
I don't know if it's still true but they used to have a reputation for being homophobic. One of my training buddies is a mason and he is a very 'normal' person as far as I can tell :)

@auntconnie - your comments on research are spot-on IMHO. I wish it had been as easy to do in the 1980s when I came into contact with 'The Crap'. Though I was only in 'The Crap' for a few years, the impact on my life at the time was disastrous.

The Jehovah's Witness religion has gone for good !!!
by snare&racket ini am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.
the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.
different teachings on when the end is coming.

Musings about different types of atheist!
by Seraphim23 ina thought that occurs to me is that if one has the belief that all that is real is only explicable in terms of particles and forces, and that nothing exists that is not one of these, then good and bad doesnt exist either, the same would be true for any concept for that matter.
or perhaps it is only true when reduced to the level of matter and forces, but without the moral force, meaning and purpose that such a materialist only description would entail.
after all, if death is forever, which is materialist view, then what does it matter if a seventy or seven year old enters the grave?

Gravity is a fact surely? There are theories about how it works. I need to get out more I know.....

I know cofty can be a bit rough at times but I can't see any reason for not responding to a request to explain what one means by a specific statement. I don't understand what you meant either.

Maybe the rituals are more of a 'pascals wager' than real belief? :)

I'am in the Penalty Box! I asked the Circuit Overseer "Who Donates Blood For Jehovah's Witnesses Blood Fragments".
by AuntConnie intold my husband to put a muzzle on my mouth over the blood dogma.
we all were driving around in field service when the topic of "which fragments would you take if you were in a car accident or cut yourself badly".
said his choice is a personal one, another sister with chronic health problems said she had no problem with the governing body's new light on taking various fragments.

They can do what they want when it's convenient: Malawi/Mexico; blood products; UN; signing passport applications with a loyalty oath, etc
im not sure the issue is 'where' the blood comes from as generally they wouldn't know but they buy food and other services from non-witnesses so I'm not sure what the issue would be there.
as auntconnie rightly observes though, they are prepared to use without contributing.
