ARE YOU BEING MONITORED BY BETHEL? (not really!!)
by AllTimeJeff inthis is for anyone who cares... just my thoughts and opinions, which have slightly changed since i have left the cult.
a poster named melita said some really inappropriate things on barbara andersons thread on jaracz's stroke, which got me to finally post this, just to put it out there...... when i first left, i was scared s*itless that i was being monitored and watched by bethel for reading and posting here.
and i bet i am.

I had purchased amazing seats for a LA Lakers / Pacers game way in advance. I gave them away because of the CO's (Gordan Merrill) visit! I was told to put spiritual matters first. Quite upsetting.

As someone who was affected by his position on silencing survivors of child molestation while allowing molesters to remain Brothers™ In Good Standing™, I have no sympathy for Theodore Jaracz. In fact, I hope he's as physically crippled by this stroke to the same extent that so many JW children have been psychologically crippled by his evil, insane, inhumane and criminal policies. I hope he is completely unaffected mentally, though, so he can KNOW how his body has betrayed him, the same way we have come to KNOW how his policies betrayed the innocents harmed by his policies.
YEAH! What Skully said!

Being An Insider as a JW Means.... What?
by AllTimeJeff ini write this partly as a healing post for me, but also one built out of curiosity.... because as we all know, jw's have their own caste system, with the haves and have nots, the good jw's, and those barely hanging on for dear life..... since i have left, i have wondered how i should use my "insider" observations as a gilead grad, missionary, elder, etc.... frankly, for me to go all the way up the ladder is embarrassing for me to consider... what an idiot i was..... yet, for so many who are leaving, they are fascinated by what i got to do.
ditto certain others here.
(i think of randy watters or a@g videos, etc....) frankly, when i read randy's stuff at freeminds.org, i recognized it instantly.

I know what you mean. It was VERY limited for me because of being female, but I had a lot of "blessings" most single pioneer chicks didn't get. For example: Got to be friends with the Barr's - was invited by Jack and Mildred to the Gilead graduation. Met and visited with a lot of the heavies, ran around with my best friends as they did their circuit. Had parts on assemblies, treated like a rockstar because my best friends were COs, went to serve in Ecuador and was treated like royalty by the locals. Stuff like that.
It wasn't until I lived in the 3rd world country that I started to realize how superficial and stupid it was. The witnesses down there were so amazing. They had nothing and would give everything. The thing that really pissed me off in the end was how the branch would come down on them for not wearing a tie, or not cleaning their shoes, usually something to do with their appearance. For the love of gawd...we have extreme poverty here and JWs are worried about your tie and shoes? Plus it's HOT! And DIRTY!
I started feeling like...we are ruining these amazing, humble, precious people.
So incredibly silly.

Hi I'm new here
by BloominMarvellous infeeling guilty already about being on here, the familiar words are recalled in my mind "don't go on any jehovah's witness websites except 'watchtower.org'!
so here i am, desperate for some help.
i'm 21 and have been studying for 2 years, i was made an unbaptised publisher in february and it was all going great until i had a problem with getting a little tipsy, the elders had to come scrape me off the floor of my witness friends house and take me home.

Wow, this brings back some old feelings of shame and guilt. I wish someone would have told me years ago it is, "impossible to be perfect." I know that sounds trite, but perfection is what they expect. I use to beat myself up so badly when I failed to be perfect.
So please know:
You aren't bad. You aren't dirty. You are 21 and you did nothing wrong. Really do you think your God Jehovah is angry? Do you think He needs for you to tell the elders the details? He gave Jesus because we are ALL sinners. Including those elders you will meet with on Saturday.
Where in the bible does it say one sin is worse than another? Why is sex w/o marriage so offensive, when there are no judicial committees being formed for the elders being judgmental; or their wives who love to gossip. Why is a sexual "sin" always thought of as SO serious, while other "sins" are simply ignored?
WE ALL SIN everyday without even knowing it, if we agree with the bible. Right?
So think about your God, the God you love, and ask yourself: Is He really so arbitrary? Why would He need me to tell elders when He already knows? What did the death of Jesus really mean in regards to imperfection?
What was that scripture...about casting the first stone?
I wish you the best.

A LOOK INSIDE BETHEL LIFE, THE ORGANIZATION BEHIND THE NAME
by Bethelite Elder inwhen i first came to bethel, the going reassurance was that if you stayed more than 5 years, you would be considered permanent.
many of the bethelites bought into the idea and stayed many years.
however, a few years back they had a test of faith.

A lot of damage to the lives of so many. It is tragic to see so many people who have given up everything only to realize...the truth.
Welcome.

Your relationship with your children is different than with your mate
by palmtree67 ini was reading easyrider's thread about the co's council on children and the comment about the discrepancy between kicking out your kids vs. keeping a mate who doesn't serve jehovah.. i think your relationship with your kids is very different than your relationship with your mate.. your kids will always be your kids, no matter what.
nothing will ever change that.. not so with your mate.
they could die or you could divorce.

So many ex-Bethelites here...
by jws injust thinking back over some of the many, many posts here.
it seems there are a fair share of ex-bethelites here or ex-branch office workers.. what percentage of jws actually go to bethel or a branch office?
it's gotta be under 1%.

"They do not value the most important thing about being human: the ability to think and act like an individual."
Wow. Now that is the TRUTH.
