  Just wondering, do you think the media in the UK would be interested?

  to me, this seems exactly like the jw's banging on doors on a saturday morning.

  Hey how about a billboard campaign? Nice advertisements for the Dateline program in prominent positions near the stadium etc? :)

  Of course the WT will now buy up every one of those billboards for the next 1000 years. ;)

  Will silentlambs Be DF???

  well now we have it, what appears to be the pre-emptive strike from wt.. as of this friday three families who appeared on the dateline program have been informed judicial committees have been setup with a one week notice and it is alleged that they have been causing "divisions" within the organization.

  i got my letter today, barbara anderson got hers yesterday and the other family earlier this week.. if you were a pr firm would you think it to be a good idea or a bad idea to df everyone a couple of weeks before the dateline program airs?

  what do you think the american public will think of such a move?.

  I've got friends, (well, maybe not friends, not spoken to them in ages) who live there. Does anyone know the Johnsons? Randy and Barbara, daughter named Carley? Still JWs as far as I know.

  "Shepherding Calls"

  how often are these elders supposed to come visit anyway?

  it's been a long while since we had any elder come to our house... sure, we had some "brothers and sisters" come by to either use the bathroom while in the service or just say hi, but an elder?

  it's been at least a year.. are these guys getting lazy?

  Hmmm, it's our C.O visit this week. Wonder if I'll be receiving a visit soon.

  The last shepherding call I received I was offered a study. I accepted (I hadn't come across this site before then). In passing he asked how I was and I told him about my current medical problem. No matter what I said he kept commenting on how when you're depressed these things can happen. I'm like "what are you talking about?", I had had an MRI scan confirm that I'd had a small stroke a few months earlier but he was just convinced that I was depressed. I cancelled the study a couple of weeks later stating that I didn't think it was helping me.

  Makes you wonder whether they actually listen.

  you all jump up and down when stephen bates from the guardian newspaper uk writes an article supporting your views, but absolutely no interest at all when given another first class quality link?.

  I've watched the show from the start and he appears more interested in companies and governments.

  Maybe the idea of tackling a 'religon' scares him? :)

  what is up with the site lately?

  first i get a basic blue site that is unoike what i have encountered before and now ai am getting a complete site but it is so small that i cannot read what the links are, and mouse-overs do not work.

  I believe it's a combination of shunning and "where else do I go" that causes the majority to stay.

  Personally I'm not baptized but I know that even non-baptized JWs have been shunned by their cong after they've left.

  I'm steadly making more 'worldly' friends so I have someone to hang with once it hits the fan.

  British music rocks, It's official (rebuttal)

  never ever, ever confuse greatness with popularity.

  compared to music here in the u.s. british music is as good as it gets.

  it's true that bands like pulp, suede, blur, oasis, manic street preachers, rarely get any airplay here in the states, but that's all i listen too.

  There's probably just as many good US bands as UK bands, they just don't get the airplay over here.
  Examples: Pavement, Flaming Lips, Elliot Smith, Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, Built to Spill. For some reason, they are the only ones popping into my head and I can't seem to think of any in the vein of Pulp, Suede, etc. By the way, this week's hot pick....Cornershop's Handcream for a Generation.

  I've heard of Pavement and Flaming Lips. I find a lot of US bands end up becoming more popular over here in the UK than they do at home. Most of them I hear on Steve Lamac's show and Mark and Lards.

  I'm currently into S.O.A.D and Lostprophets. I'm also into lot's banging house etc.

  todays newspapers are full of the le pen story.

  much concern is being voiced that right-wing organisations will ride on this story to make their own agendas more widely known, ie, send all the immigrants back home, britain for the british, sod off everyone else!.

  now i personally love different cultures.

  No I wouldn't say you were.

  Although it would be nice to think there was more help for those who want to contribute to this country.

  What about all the doctors/nurses etc that seek asylum? Wouldn't they be better put to good use than just stuck on sink estates doing nothing?
