  Comparisons between todays Witnesses and those 40 years ago

  loyalty, devotion, hardcore, willing to lose jobs to attend friday of the district convention.

  these were the witnesses who came into the truth or were born into it some 30-60 years ago.

  they could reason from the scriptures and hold their own at the doors.. today, i see a large mass of witnesses who have been in some 10-15 years who really don't know much about their own faith, could not explain 1914, are unwilling to lose jobs and sleep over attending meetings and assemblies and live double lives.

  It's interesting. I think there's a big difference between today's Witnesses and those forty years ago. I think that forty years ago they appreciated "the truth" much more than in our times. Today there are many things that distract them from serious studying of Watchtower magazines. And not too many of them expect Armageddon to be as soon as it was about forty years ago.

  How do you feel when you see groups of Jehovah's Witnesses in the ministry?

  regret, anger, frustration?

  how about sadness, sorrow, sympathy, understanding, even compassion!.

  it can be quite confusing at times, especially if some of those witnesses were your friends.

  I am happy that I don't have to do it. It was always a drudgery for me. I was an auxilary pionieer and I remember this pressure with hours. It's good to be free from it.

  interesting encounter while I was out celebrating this weekend

  we celebrated my birthday a weekend early .

  we went to dinner with family and friends and then out to a couple of bars for dancing and drinking .

  at the last place we went the table behind us was having a birthday celebration too .
