according to a bethel heavy i know rather well,.
ted is paralysed down his right side,.
however his mind and speech remain unaffected.. .
is john barr still alive?
there have been a number of developments over the past few months and they paint an interesting picture.. witnesses can keep dragging themselves to meetings ad infinitum however, the future of the watchtower itself is another story.
the evidence of continuing cash flow problems is now overwhelming.
if you talk to well placed witnesses, most won't deny it but simply blame it on the publishers financial problems.. they have cut off loans to congregations many of whom genuinely need new kingdom halls.
i think their assets will keep them going for quite a while. who knows how many billions they have in offshore accounts.

is Jaracz the last of the old guard or is there one more besides him?

i know, i know, more michael jackson news.
this for some reason has got me ticked off.
if you go to the tmz website you will see a photo of paris and her brother holding the "sing praises to jehovah" songbook.
clearly Michael knew that Katherine would raise the kids as Jehovah's Witnesses. I don't think he was that stupid.
he must not have hated that much of his childhood as he said he did.
life in the new system, did you give it much thought?
sure, we would be brought to perfection, and there would be a resurrection, but how about other things?.
in my years growing up and living as a jw, i never really thought about it that much.
meeting people
i guess its time to throw my little story out there.
i keep reading everyones stories and thinking how brave you have all been, coming out of the organisation and facing all the repercussions of doing so.. .
i only last august disassociated myself.
Hi Spaghetti,
Welcome to JWD. There have been many gay exJW's on the board over the years. I guess I would say I'm the old grey gay of the board now. I come and go from time to time here. You can find a lot of my postings about being gay under my old screen name joelbear.
It is clear to me that being homosexual is not a choice, nor is it learned. Who would you learn it from? I knew I was gay when I was 10.
I got baptized when I was 15 because I thought it would cleanse the gayness out of me. Nope. I dated sisters until I was 30 because I was convinced that I would eventually meet a woman that would turn me on. Nope.
I went to Bethel, determined to live a life of celibacy, but I fell in love with another brother and told him how I felt. He reported me and I was on the next plane home. Although, my committee there was quite kind to me. As was my committee when I got home to Georgia. They didn't know what to do with a young man who had always been faithful and obedient and humble and was now telling them he was queer.
I came out when I was 30. Moved away to start a new life. Lost contact with all my witness family except my Mom and Dad who truly tried to understand what I was going through even though it was difficult for them.
I met my partner Mitch shortly after coming out. We have been together almost 21 years.
Live life. Love others. Let Matthew 7:12 be your guide.
Joel
i talked to a couple of my friends that are jw's this week about this, they said, "well, obviously mj thought it was the truth, that's why he left his kids to his mother, so they can be raised as witnesses.".
why didn't he leave his kids to his brothers?
he has several of them.. bf.
his 2nd choice was Diana Ross. does she have the truth too?
if you read comments made regarding mj's death, there are tons of people talking about his religion.
the fact that he was a jw that disassociated himself, is giving bloggers all sorts of ammunition regarding the rotten witness religion.
jws are trying to defend themselves and their religion and outsiders are clearly seeing how effed up jws really are.. good..
i have a feeling that most of the people saying and praying things at the service had no idea what Michael's spiritual ideas were.
i think that is pretty disgusting.
