The first person I saw that used it on this board of late was punkofnice (though it may have been used before)... I about fell over laughing because I remembered the word from litteratrash past!

Jesus spoke on the mount of olives, evidently olives are a healthy snack food endorsed by the Christ for Christians
It is reasonable to assume, then, that we as Christians should include olives as a snack at least once a week, perhaps even doing so while engaging in the door-to-door ministry. Imagine our delight when we partake of the perfect snack food endorsed by Christ himself! To be able to share in this most sacred ministry while maintaining our health is surely a provision from our loving God, Jehovah. How happifying!
@sir82, I would have put "preachifying" there are the end...just for a little extra seasoning... lmao

Youtube JW Goes Against WT Admonition to Admonish Apostates
by PublishingCult inthis sister in the video below calls us "stupid", "slanderous" and nearly says, "libelous", but oh, darnit, it's not a word she is use to saying .
this lady has about 125 vids talking about the jw's, the wtbts and stuff.
she goes against the wtbts's admonition against having such a channel and against engaging apostates with admonition of her own to dole out.

Wow. Another fine example of Watchtower education... Firstly, she doesn't know what the meaning of the word "libel" is. Secondly, she (like most JW's) has a persecution complex and assumes that individual JW's are being attacked, when really it's the WTBS. And lastly, just in true WTBS fashion, she repeats the same thing over and over, but in slightly different ways...
PC, reading your posts here about these vids, I could HEAR your voice narrating lmao. I think it would be a nice vid if you took a few of these "admonitions" from JW's on youtube and made a compilation, along with actual Watchtower quotes about such behavior. Throw their hypocracy back at them, ya know?

I just discovered something!
by fade_away inwhen i was a witness, my friends and i used to make hilarious parody videos about everything.
titanic, jackass, 24, and our own religion: jehovah's witnesses.
all of which got us all in trouble with the elders.

Do They Still Offer Food At The DCs?
by Low-Key Lysmith into this day, i still can't drink shasta cola or lemon-lime soda.
when i was a kid, you would buy these books of "food tickets".
the tickets were traded for terrible food.
-

Hoagie, pasta salad, pudding cup... half-rotten bag of fruit...
I lived for those damn cheese danishes, though!
One of the last years they had food at the DC was the WORST. They had quit making people buy tickets and, just like the LITTERature, it was all on a donation basis...so people started REALLY taking advantage. Instead of getting enough food to feed their family for lunch, they'd get double for lunch AND dinner on the way home. I know quite a few families who did this. They'd leave their seats at the beginning of the song right before intermission in order to get in line for food. My mom wouldn't let me do that, so we were always some of the last in line. That year, my mom and I got nothing for lunch on the second day of the DC. Goddamn vultures had picked it all clean. By the time we got up to the tables, there were only drinks left. The next day, she let me get up before the last song to go get food.

JW's attempt to sabotage a funeral was foiled (for now)
by TastingFreedom ini had to share this sad experience... even if it's not in my top priority list.. my older brother from my mom's first marriage unfortunately passed away last night.
he had been struggling with health issues, the last few years.
this is a very sad time in the family as you can imagine, specially because my mother lost her youngest son just five years ago.

I'm so sorry for your loss, TastingFreedom. You and your family are in my thoughts.
One word of advice, though (if I may)... You made your wishes known about your brother's service and not allowing your JW brother to give any Watchtower infomercials instead of a eulogy. However, seeing as his wife will probably harangue him to do SOMETHING, you may want to be on the lookout for strategically placed brochures or tracts at the funeral home or church. I know that a friend of mine's father passed and even though it was an Adventist service, she left a bunch of tracts at the podium where the memorial cards and the sign-in book are located. So, this is just a little heads-up that they still may try to brazenly get their way!!

How HIGH did you climb the ranks as a JW? Did you like the STATUS?
by unshackled inso what were your biggest jw accomplishments as a rank & file?
curious as to what level you climbed the r&f ladder while in the org, or if you still are in.. did you regular pioneer, or auxiliary pioneer?
bethel?

My aunt was one of them...an old hen that thought she ruled the other hens...with her rooster. Bad scene.
So she tried to rule the roost by virtue of the position of the cock, but no one established the pecking order??

I regular pioneered and went to pioneer school when I was still single. I wasn't much for commenting. I hated it, actually. Didn't marry anyone who was of importance (actually, he was inactive when we got married). He did start reaching out a couple of years later and had been considered for MS, but the elders felt he wasn't ready and they were wary because of his former "apostate tendencies"...but he had the balls to say he didn't make MS because of ME! Ass.
I have to say I absolutely DESPISED the attention I got being a pioneer. Everything was scrutinized...my speech, my dress, my choices of entertainment...EVERYTHING! I hated that the older pioneers counselled me on my dress. I liked high platform shoes and long skirts (with a modest slit in the leg). I was never showing a ton of skin or anything and I knew some elder's wives who dressed like absolute trollops who no one ever said a damn thing to!

Your Age at Baptism (into JWs, not Catholics or Baptists - duh)
by undercover inleavingwt mentioned on another thread the age of his wife when she was baptized.
she was a child.
how can you expect a child to make such a decision?.
-
Morbidzbaby
undercover, I used the VERY SAME line of reasoning with my ex when explaining to him my wishes that he not encourage our children to get baptized before they were adults... He agreed with the reasoning, but then said he was a teen and he was ready... Um, no he wasn't. He thinks he was NOW, but he told me and showed in his behavior MANY times that he most definitely was NOT ready at that time. Nor was he ready to get married in his early 20's (neither was I).
I was 13 when I got baptized. I did it because everyone else my age was and also because I thought it would "clear up" the doubts I had because then I'd have "holy spirit" helping me for sure!! And I'd be accepted in our congregation (finally). I'd be a part of the club, I wouldn't be treated like chattal, I'd have FRIENDS.
Yeah...right...
