  i occasionally pop through here to catch up on the latest, but this time i'm going to pop my own post on here.. some of you internet oldsters may even remember this.

  my first experience on the internet regarding discussions about jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower took place on a now-obscure usenet group, before i eventually stumbled across hourglass2.. during those days, there was a poster who went by the name "prominent bethelite," an otherwise anonymous individual whom i remember most for an extensive, exhaustive compilation of date-oriented remarks, predictions, and expectations by the watchtower organization down through the decades of its history.. it became known as "the list" and it's definitely lengthy... but a fascination look at the abundance of errant statements made through the watchtower's history.. if you're curious, it's been available for a long time on hourglass2's site, and can be seen using the link provided below.. the list, compiled by prominent bethelite (1999).

  I have book-marked it the internet site. I wish there was an online book version for easy distributions. Thanks for sharing. It represent a painstaking research, scholarship and dedication to the truth.

  Thank you alot for sharing a bit of your background. I see some similarity with that of mine but with a different geographical background and job. Presenty and thanks to graduate education, Iam getting more dollars than I had obtained in the past. I feel content with it. As a Doctor, you will have an apportunity for upward mobility. You probably will be able to save more money due to your JW background. Spending less and saving more knowing that a frugal life is what you used to be.

  I think, this speaks volume. Sexua deprivation might have been the reason besides mental health issue.

  Ray Franz - is he REALLY a hero?

  on one hand, he's enlightnened many to the internal circle jerk that is the governing body (circa the 70s).. but if there's one reason that can be pointed to for the jws becoming full on cult, it's ray franz.

  without him leaving in the manner he did, and stirring the pot, they might not have change the rule (retroatively i might add) on shunning of disassociated ones.

  they specifically changed that so they could remove him and eliminate his influence.. his actions single handedly have created the situation where we have to fade, evade, leave marriages, say goodbye to family, just because we don't buy the jw bullsh!t anymore.

  Based on his own account the only reason he wrote the books was that they didn't honor their deal to leave him alone. Had they followed through, I don't doubt he would have lived out his days as a JW.

  That's a good observation. Yet it can be stated that n o one who has not passed the bar exam is regarded as credible evidence that he or she is a good lawyer. I think, no one is permitted to practice law without passing bar examinations.

  "...I spent the last 6 years at my desk or in the latter years in the 24hr medic library at the hospital, until 2-3am There is just so much information to consume. There were days I studied for 16 hours straight. But on average, I would do 9-5 am on the wards, 7pm-2pm in library. Revision days off, I would do 11am until approx 2am..."

  Hard work at the cost of our discomfort does pay in the end. snare&racket 's graduation is a proof. By the way, there are night owls who are like that and will work better during that time.

  .. the new wbt$ donation arrangement/ jw kingdom hall bank account theft... is a very hot topic right now... the wbt$ is literally going to clean out kingdom hall bank accounts,filled with donations from jws... that theft is going to happen world wide..the wbt$ is going to steal from 7 million plus jw`s... .. we have jw elders here on jwn,that know whats going on... they "serve" in kingdom halls,they are "supposed" to be looking after the welfare of the average jw... they know there is a 4 page letter,only one page will be read to the congregation..the rest will be kept secret... they know the wbt$ is about to steal jw donations..on a world wide scale!!!...

  .. i would like to know what you active jw elders are going to do about this??!!...

  are you going to let "your" congregation know about the other 3 secret pages?...

  Scott, There is evidence that studying at night to learn material covered in class is not a good idea. For some reason, a night of sleep helps you retain the information.

  Waking up at 3am puts you between two major sleep cycles... I wouldn't use it to memorize anything but to each their own

  I forget to indicate that in order to wake up at 3am, I tend to go to bed between 8:30am-9am. That is 6hrs of sleep time. Iam not a fun of night study. by the way, this link should be of interest to some.
