don't take it literally; no violence, no persecution, no stigmatizing.. most are not aware but they have been using this in one form or another.
but using this on wt is difficult because wt is so strong, organized and effective that metaphorically only "spattered poison" reaches the well which by now starts to taste bitter.. for it to be righteous, it has to be truthful, no matter how scandalous.
Just look at my past posts and topics if you want to know a little. There's not much there as I don't post a lot. It would give you the general idea. I am sparse on details as i want to protect my identity as I am still in.
Stop being metaphorical and be literal. Are you a JW. Active? Family?

Someone said it on here before and I really liked the thought that people can't leave due to an escalating commitment their entire lives. Like the US in the Vietnam war, you just can't quit because it would mean all the sacrifices you made up to that point were all for nothing. The sadness and heartbreak of that is more than many can take so they just keep plodding along pushing back the growing cognitave dissonance, getting more and more tired and broken down each year. Very sad.

my sister is taking care of the sex and condoms talk, thank goodness.. my only nephew (and likely the closest i will get to having a kid) turns 16 next month.
his mom is inactive, doesn't know if she is going back.
I would say if you are going to bring up specifics like brotherdan says, have some written material to back it up waiting in the car or something, but maintain complete credibility at all times.

ruruj, i see you're pretty new on here, maybe you've been reading for a while, I don't know. What's your story? You came in guns blazing 19 days ago out of the blue. Fired up is fine. Plan of action is fine. Lay some groundwork first.

I would come from the angle of truth and knowledge as he is taught in science, history, math ect. in school. Emphasize no one is exempt from being fact checked from other sources. Expose him to other ways of thinking about religion and god. Don't make it the JW's or no belief at all. Young people can latch onto the JW's because a young person needs the world to make sense, and where they fit into it. I firmly believe education can free the mind to think for itself if the person applies themselves.

they are soooo focused on 'spreading the good news' that anything they feel furthers that, whether it is true and accurate or not is totally justified.

P er the following defintion the JW's are definately creationists 1. the doctrine that matter and all things were created, substantially as they now exist, by an omnipotent Creator, and not gradually evolved or developed. 2. ( sometimes initial capital letter 
) the doctrine that the true story of the creation of the universe is as it is recounted in the Bible , esp. in the first chapter of Genesis. 3. the doctrine that god immediately creates out of nothing a new human soul for each individual born.

It's much more Apostle Paul than Jesus Christ. I often felt how christianity would change (probably for the better) if Paul's writings were removed from the bible.
