before conversion, mother had grown up as a salvation army disciplinarian and most everything i did was wrong or unhealthy according to her.

I can relate to some of how you feel. I had a father but he always told me I was ugly, had an ugly name, an ugly personality. I wasted a good chunk of my life feeling inferior and not living up to my potential. I don't know how old you are, but I've found that the older I get, the less I care what other people think.

THEY should be worried about what I think of them!!

You seem incredibly intelligent and articulate. I enjoy your posts, very insightful and caring of other people.

Keep trying, and don't give up.

Wars, earthquakes and famines are not signs of the end

in the late 1960s and early 1970s, i wrote my study, 1914 and all that.

in it, i stated that at matthew 24 jesus warned his followers against seeing wars, earthquakes and famines as being signs.

i have not wavered from that position, which i have given in my posts here at times.. .

My point was that while there may be an "any day now" aspect to birth, the time frame for waiting is quite short.

Would you want to wait almost 200 years for a birth, being told constantly "Any day now! Soon! Any day now?"

I'm just saying its exhausting.

"Expectation postponed......"

While birth pains do signal the end of a pregnancy for a woman, there is also a set time period for it - 40 weeks.

That is an set time that you can look forward to.

I think thats the difference. If a woman never knew when her baby would be born - this year? Next year? In 5 years? 10 years? - that would be very difficult to bear.
