i know as exjws, probably for the most, there was a secret freedom in watching horror films without thinking you would have a demon as a bed buddy.. i am not very fond of every horror movie, but i will watch those that have an intelligent side to it and is not gore for the sake of gore.
like "the ring" got me going when i first watched it, just like "the blair witch project" did, which is more about suspense.
anyway, i never saw any of the saw movies, so i am going to try to watch saw iii tonight, since it is on showtime.

since i'm still suffering in this crackerjacks organization, these are some of statements that just drive me nuts.
1. in service: "we are not here to convert you" funny how jws have the true religion but resort to deception and outright lies in order to get people to listen
2. to other jws: "we won't have to deal with this in the new system" 7 billion evil doers dead and gone, no longer create problems for us
My top 2:
1. Any problem you have the first thing people ask is - Have you prayed about it?
2. Calling each other "brother" and "sister", then treating each other like crap.
i have noticed this a lot in attitudes of witness relatives i've talked with over the last few years , as well as other former witness friends i have talked to.
many witnesses feel bad about themselves due to having it drilled into them that we are all " sinners " who allegedly inherited " sin and imperfection " from adam and eve .
that essentially humans are " born dead " or in a " dying " condition due to alleged " inherited sin " .
It's so true that there are 2 camps of people in the org., as you all have pointed out. Those who feel incredibly unworthy and those who have the "air of superiority".
But I believe that even those with the "air of superiority" suffer low self-esteem. As one of you pointed out, these are the ones who do everything they can to beat on their fellow slaves. And why do they do it? To make themselves feel better!!
They are just expressing low self-seteem in a different way than those who feel incredibly unworthy.
i know some couples that truly believe this.. what's your view?

I think I could be compatible with alot of people, but that doesn't mean they're my soulmate.

i've heard of a fair few sexless marriages in the borg, probably something to do with the fact that if you're raised "in" you'll have a pretty skewed view of sex by the time you finally get to do it.
so if someone is trapped in a sexless marriage, from a jw standpoint they could get an unscriptural divorce...but...that doesn't leave them free to remarry??!
seems pretty sadistic really.

six years 'jw free', my wife is still in, although she's now nowhere neary as zealous as i was when in.
for this i'm grateful.. please take a moment to review my current situation as far as my wife's involvement is concerned with our 4, adult male children:.
my wife regularly contacts my dfd son, invites him and his wife to visit us, along with their 4 year old son, and thinks absolutely nothing of it!
Please do not do this.
She will make the break when she's ready and in a way that is most comfortable for her. It sounds like she's on her way there already, just give it time.
