in all seriousness, though...i'm helping a young gal who just told the elders taht she doesn't want to be involved anymore, has lots of doubts, and isn't sure what she believes at all.

we've been very close for several years and i have made it clear that she will have my support (and a few others who have left also made this point) and that she will not have to go crawling back jsut because nobody will help her.

It's not just the gossip that's the problem.

In the real world, if someone doesn't like you, they just stay away from you and leave you alone. There may be a little bit of gossip, but no one is out to UTTERLY DESTROY you, like the JW's do.

That's the difference.

I'll give you all my secret "Busy Mommy" recipe that I made this morning and put in the crock pot. It will smell sooooo good when I get home!!!

2 lbs stewing beef

1 cup flour

1 package instant onion soup mix

1 tsp dried thyme

salt and pepper

1 bottle of beer

Shake it all together in a bag or plastic container with a lid. Throw it all into the crock pot and pour the beer over top. Turn it on low.

When you get home, make potatoes or rice or egg noodles and a salad.

Yummy!

*disclaimer* this was posted on a 2 year old thread and a friend suggested i start a new thread with it to introduce myself.. .

i discovered this site by accident when i was actually looking for a site to date ex jw's (probably because i know that we could relate and if they were as repressed as me growing up, they would be as horny and kinky as i am if not more so - yumm!).

i also believe that he will take care of all things in his own way.

i have debated about doing this for a while (i still don't even know if the pics will show up good enough) coming across sir82's "insider" notes got me looking through my stuff today, and i thought i would share a few of the letters with you.. i also do this for another reason: i know occasionally, that "trolls" (so called) come and go, and people here get worried or upset.

i don't worry at all, i personally think they aren't here to "save" any potential lurkers, they just come here to tick us off.

but i also realize that some authoratative information might help to ease some concerns.

I've seen Gilead group pics a hundred times before in the mags, I don't know why it's never struck me before until now, how much they all look like generic humans with their personalities sucked right out of them.

You can't tell a thing personal about any of them from that photo. Which was the point, I imagine. It strikes me as sad.

I loved the original version and was looking forward to this one. But I think they revealed too much in the first show. And it sucked big wind that it was only an hour.

But the previews for next week look good.

**Note to self: make sure there's Orville Reddenbacher in the pantry for next week.**

I have to say how much all the ladies in that photo look like "Stepford Sisters" - skirts all of appropriate length, jackets buttoned up high to cover the cleavage, pasted-on smiles......
