The whole statement about how no one can interpret the Bible except the GB................just infuriates me.

Yet at the same time, they say claim the Bible was made available for everybody!!! Translated into soooo many different languages and preserved through everything so we each could have it....Yet only THEY can understand it??????????

All I can say is.....since I have been reading the Bible on my own, I feel so much closer to God and I think THEY are totally misrepresenting Him.

I'm trying the tea bags today. Thank you.

And managed to have a little oatmeal for lunch.

I'm noticing today how much they ripped up the inside of my mouth!! I was knocked out for the procedure ( thank goodness ) and every dentist tells me what a small mouth I have, so I assume it was difficult to work in there.

Have I mentioned how much I hate going to the dentist?

To Snowbird:

I had oral surgery this morning, was worried sick about it for the last month. I had to fly 250 kms away to have it done and flew back this afternoon.

I didn't get to keep my tooth, they had to chop it into pieces to get it out. But I sure would've liked to have seen the bugger.

The pain meds they gave me are just barely keeping the pain away.

I was just wondering how you were doing? Please tell me there's light at the end of the tunnel, cus right now, I feel really crappy.

And really hungry.

For those who researched 607...

did you use wt dates as well as things found from a secular perspective?

if a witness was researching the 607 dates strictly from watchtower info, would it still become clear they are wrong?

or does the wtbs *make* the dates add up...?

I've researched it a bit from both sources (JW and secular) and this is my conclusion:

It was freakin' lucky for them that WW1 started in 1914 or I don't think this religion would have a leg to stand on.

Also, whatever the calculations, I don't think God is stuck on any one particular doctrine to "prove" who his people are or are not.

I think there's alot of other criteria to take into account.

the wtbts was founded in america and has a strong american component to it.

it is an authoritarian organization, and, as you people know, all real decision making is left to the governing body, whose members seem to be mostly white americans, or at least have been mostly white americans or white people of english descent.

it doesn't seem to me that the members from other countries do anything but obey the commands from brooklyn.

I totally agree with you!!! This is one of the things I have been thinking alot about.

If God truly wants people of ALL nationalities, why did he choose only middle class American, white men to represent him?????? The decisions they make are going to be based on their own NARROW point of view.

It makes no sense.
