I love every line in Orange County:
"A writer? What do you have to write about? You're not oppressed. You're not gay."
"SEAN! You're my same height, that is neat."
"Dude, I never went to college and check me out. I'm kick ass!"
"My parole officer wants to give me a drug test and I need your urine... can I score some of your piss?"
"So I married Bob, for you! I had sex with Bob four times for you! So how can you call me a bad mother? "
"Bud is getting so fat. You should really talk to him, he's going to have a heart attack. Plus he's fat."
"'cause some little chumps go to collage, some little chumps go home, some little chumps eat roast beef, some little chumps eat none, but this little chump is going to go wee wee wee all the way to the biz-natch."
"I have the sneaking suspicion that my English teacher is illiterate... "
"But she was all like,''I hate my job, I'm gonna burn this mother down!' and I was all like 'You better not. You better not.'

More "Elders" Doubt They Are Appointed By The "Holy Spirit"!
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inthe study edition of the watchtower says the elders are appointed by jehovah's holy spirit.
it's confounding the society does not realize that more and more elders, do not accept this claim.
i have racked my brain, wondering how many brothers and sisters actually believe this, fall hook and sinker.

I have a brother who's an elder and he believes he has been specially appointed by holy spirit and therefore everyhting he thinks and speaks comes directly from God.
He won't say it in those same words, but he believes if he doesn't like you - then Jehovah doesn't like you.

The JWs may celebrate this court "victory", but it's actually just further proof that government has no interest in "turning on religion". The JW prophecy that the UN and the governments are going to destroy religion "very soon" is just another false prophecy. That event was supposed to be the climactic start of the big A. Now they don't even talk about it because even WT knows that they have that one all wrong.
Just quoting BILLY for emphaisis.

I've visited ground Zero in NYC twice and was overcome by tears both times.
So I can't even imagine the extent of your grief, Sizey.
Comfort and stength to you,

Disfellowshipping in action
by Zico ini have not been around here for a while and have mostly moved on from things related to the watchtower society, i'm pleased to see so many new people who have managed to escape.
i recently heard a story about a brother from my old congregation that i thought demonstrated what an awful religion we had, and decided to come back to share it.. sadly, this brother's mother had died, at the funeral, he was introducing a friend of his mother to various relatives but then came across one man he didn't recognise "sorry" he said to the man "i don't recognise you?
" thankfully, one of his non-believing relatives was on hand to help "that's your son!

I had something similar happen. I wasn't df'ed, but my sister had refused to have anything to do with me for a long time. (My family cuts each other off regularly and it lasts for years......personal disfellowshippings, I call them) She had a baby and I never saw him.
When he was about 6 months old, another sister was sitting in the mother's room with a strange baby and I assumed it belonged to one of her bible studies. I asked whose baby it was, and she said, "It's your nephew."

If THIS MAN were a Jehovah's Witness 2 million babies would be dead
by Terry injames harrison has magical blood.. specifically, his blood contains an extremely rare enzyme that can be used to treat babies dying of rhesus disease.
if you've never heard of that disease and figure it's not a big deal, well, wait for the numbers.. harrison, being a generous type, has donated his rare, life-saving blood roughly 1,000 times over 56 years.
this has saved the lives of--seriously, you're not going to believe this--over two million babies around the world.. .
