the purpose behind the article is to explore my own doubts and long-standing confusion over the genesis narrative - particularly the events surrounding adam and eve's expulsion from eden, and the "two trees" (namely the "tree of life" and the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad").. in my article i discuss my confusion over what the exact properties of the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad" may have been, and the fact that evidently by eating of the fruit adam and eve did not become sinful but more godlike.
I would take it as a given that they ate from it given that they were not prohibited from doing so, and after all, it was evidently a fairly prominent tree.
Just curious as to why my thoughts on the subject have to be written in exact words int he Bible, but your thoughts on it "are a given".....

where it says that at no point did they eat from the tree of life prior to the fall
If they had ALREADY eaten from it, then why did he kick them out before they could eat from it?
Not that anything the Jehovah God does makes much sense anyways......

James, does the bible indicate that they ate from the Tree of Knowledge once? Twice? Every week? Once a year?
How many times they would have to eat from the Tree of Life would be irrelevant, since in the long run, they were prevented form eating even once.

It doesn't have to "say" the actual words "They were created in a dying state."
They had (in your own words) ACCESS to immortality.
They did not take that opportunity and then were prevented from having ACCESS to that opportunity.
They then DIED.
Ergo, they were created in a dying state.

you're super-imposing something onto the text that isn't there. It doesn't say that Adam and Eve were in a dying state from the effects of the fruit
If you read my post again, you'll see that's not what I said.
They were not in a dying state because of eating the fruit. They were CREATED in a dying state. Obviously, or there would have been no need to prevent them from eating of the Tree of Life.
Eating of the Tree of Knowledge gave them just that.....KNOWLEDGE. Knowledge of something that Jehovah didn't want them to have, so he banished them from the garden BEFORE they could eat of the Tree of Life.
Why?

The fact that they were driven from the garden BEFORE they could eat from the Tree of Life, suggests that they were already in a dying state before they disobeyed.
Had they already eaten from the Tree of Life, Jehovah driving them out of the garden would have been pointless, because they would have achieved immortality.
Therefore, they were already dying before they disobeyed. They were created as mortal and dying before they disobeyed.
Which begs the question: Who was the one who actually lied in this scenario?
i now find it idiotic that i could ever beleive the bible to be the inspired word of god.....,throughout the bible "god"has only dealt with a few of his favoured spokespersons to deliver his messages to a minority populace.individuals at first,..... then, patriarchs,nomads,a small nation,ignoring all other nations that had sprung up.......,abandoning his chosen nation,sending his "son"to a small nation, only giving them his pearls of wisdom,much of what was not even recorded for prosperity and remember he never wrote a word,it was left up to other imperfect humans to record what he was supposed to have said,just a smidgen......,again ignoring the bulk of humankind keeping them in ignorance of his plan for universal salvation,leaving it all up to imperfect humans to spread this message of salvation, whom he has already condemned for their sinfullness and disobedience.i just find it so unbeleivable.
in the 6000 years of recorded history only a fraction of the earths population,maybe less than a third have ever heard of the god of the bible, or his so called plan to redeem humankind ,thats millions and millions of people.

it's confounding the society does not realize that more and more elders, do not accept this claim.
