  this is one of 2 bible passages that have always bothered me.. its from judges 19: (the entire chapter, so i will paraphrase.).

  a levite marries himself a concubine.

  she's unfaithful and goes back home.

  purps asked the question, at what age are the girls required to wear the full dress.. i recently read an awesome book called "nine parts of desire - the hidden world of islamic women.

  " by geraldine brooks.. it gives a great history of islam's start and the whole "chador.

  this is one of the first major incidents that made me start questioning.. our hall had 5 elders and 2 ms's.

  we also had various other brothers, all doing fine.

  some of the brothers who didn't have priveledges did magazines, literature, etc.. one day, the elders decided the brothers were not reaching out enough.

  my grandmother is 87. got the truth "on the farm" and her and my grandfather used to have meetings in their home, baptise people in their bathtub.

  when she first heard that you could go door-to-door, she was in her glory.

  she has always loved the service.

  i keep doing things that disappoint him sooooo much.. .

  i know why i'm doing it - i don't really think i'm worthy of his love.. .

  Your relationship with your children is different than with your mate

  i was reading easyrider's thread about the co's council on children and the comment about the discrepancy between kicking out your kids vs. keeping a mate who doesn't serve jehovah.. i think your relationship with your kids is very different than your relationship with your mate.. your kids will always be your kids, no matter what.

  nothing will ever change that.. not so with your mate.

  they could die or you could divorce.

  What I did this morning instead of service

  ok, so my man coaches pee-wee football.

  so i go at 10 this morning to watch 13 eight to ten year olds fumble around on the field for 2 hours.

  but this was an "optional" practice and so the ones who showed up - really wanted to be there to learn.
