Latest Special Talk in Australia
by jwfacts inno, i don't mean the visit by oprah.. there was a special talk on sunday relayed to all the aussie congs from sydney.
apparently the speaker had an american accent, but was stationed in a latin american country.
he was really pushing field service and pulled out the old one that: if you do not witness you are not one of jehovah's witnesses.

Hi Paul, it was the Zone Overseer's visit & special talk.
The whole East Coast were telephone linked into the talk form Sydney. Total of 48,000 in attendance. My ex wife dropped in after the talk, 4 congos squashed into her duplex hall to listen. I asked for the highlights, she could only think of one - "If we are truly appreciative of our spiritual standing we should be doing more in the FS." They then followed it up with lots of "upbuilding experiences."
She did tell me the names of the speakers, though have forgotten. Will ask and find out more info. Cheers, Mattieu

Are you suspicious of LURKERS?
by VampireDCLXV inwe all know they're here but we don't really know who they are.. they are people who sign up here and then never comment (or rarely ever do).. doesn't that make any of you regulars here at the very least a tiny bit suspicious?.
why would a person sign up to a forum like this and then never say a damn thing?
it seems to me that there is a primary reason why some folks sign up and then never comment on anything: to spy.

Oompa update
by Robert7 ini don't post much, so most of you don't know me.
i live in nc near oompa, and he has become a good friend with my wife and i over the last few years.. so as an update, my wife visited oompa today!
he's recovering, but has a long recovery to go.

No more suspicious of a lurker than someone who can have 1700 posts in the first 3 months on JWN
We all have different circumstances and not all have too much time to post on the web. I lurked here for a year or 2 before joining on the day of the memorial last year! I quickly scan JWN every day, but don’t have time to post on every subject, normally just try and welcome new ones.
TO SPY. I really have to wonder what other reasons there could be. It makes me deeply suspicious.
Spies can some in the form of a lurker who rarely posts or a very active poster. If someone doesn’t want to reveal who they are and guards their privacy, just be careful what one posts.....
But whatever, I got bigger fish to fry than watching my back for a quak job cult member

I feel bad about what i just did to my aged mom
by recovering ini was disfellowshipped when i was 21 (raised as a witness).
my mother who is now 80 and a diehard witness always hoped that i would return.
she is concerned that she will soon pass away and the arrangements.
