  I find it rather disturbing that OBL was living in a millioin dollar compound in the "lap of luxury" while the R&F were living in caves in the mountains...

  Sounds familiar...

  I am glad he's dead, but he's a martyr now and another radical idiot will soon take his place. I hope it doesn't take another 10 years to eliminate the replacement...

  New light on NEW LIGHT

  well, it just sort of came to me while i was driving.. the doctrine of new light is a false analogy.. why had i not considered this before?.

  here is what i'm thinking; see if you don't agree.... jehovah's witnesses are divided into three distinct tiers of membership.. 1.governing body anointed.

  2.clueless anointed.

  The simple fact the what was once the "Truth" is no longer the "Truth" and then to revert back to old teachings as "Truth".

  The Truth is simply the facts -- the facts dont ever change, just the watchtowers incantations of the Truth. Of course if we ever react not in accordance with the WTBS's "unwritten direction" we are the wrong ones - no matter how much they lead us on..

  Aspartame apparently makes my guts ache...

  i was experiencing mild abdominal pain in the evenings and just on a whim, tried eliminating diet soda and other drinks sweetened with aspartame.. i don't drink a lot of soda, but when i do, i tried mexican coca-cola sweetened with old fashioned cane sugar instead.

  --no more pain.

  but now i'm climbing the wall with cravings.

  when reading all of the variety of toppics on this site it appears by the lack of responses that some dont really care about your subject?

  or they just cant find the word to say, or they mosly like reading but not commenting.

  and some subjects ive read that have had many comments compared to others are just plane stupid as hell.

  I find that by the time I get a chance to post on a thread, I have little value to add. Also I spend a lot of time writing even the most simple of responses - so I dont post unless I can keep it short and relevant.

  on this topic we don't care what you are against.. let's be positive and tell three things we are for which are meaningful to us.. .

  1.music lessons for kids.

  learning to read music and play an instrument.. 2.memory training and math strategies in schools.

  Robots (real electronic ones.. not the JW kind)

  More Space Exploration (by either robots or humans -- I dont care which, just do something intersting -- the kepler mission is the most interesting right now)

  Better education -- teach children personal financial management, every student thould have to take music or art classes -- something creative...

  Three more wishes...

  since i'm not getting out of the jw cult any time soon due to my position and family i decided to do a little contra-action.

  maybe some of you can share your stories, experiences and let me know how far you kicked it before you either left or got booted.

  my intention is to get people thinking.. - a couple of weeks ago i had a demonstration on stage.

  I applaud your efforts, but your messages to the rank and file in your congregation is likely to fall on deaf ears. In my experience, most JW's dont even recognize a rational argument against the teachinhgs of the F&DS. You may accomplish getting asked a few questions which may lead to a full blown witch hunt.

  You sound like a thoughtfull and rational person, it may be best to just keep your head down and gradually fade out.
