the mid-atlantic states were completely white on sunday, december 20, 2009, in the wake of a record-breaking snow storm.
the storm deposited between 12 and 30 inches of snow in virginia, maryland, and washington, d.c. on december 19, according to the national weather service.
for many locations, the snowfall totals broke records for the most snow to fall in a single december day.. the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (modis) on nasas aqua satellite captured this view of the chesapeake bay region as the clouds were clearing on december 20. the snow highlights the courses of the potomac and susquehanna rivers from the appalachian mountains to the chesapeake bay.

when you buy a blu ray player or other hd devices, you will need to purchase a cable to connect it to your tv (or however your system is configured).. salespeople will typically try to sell you a "monster" cable or some high priced product.
when buying my blu ray player for $79, they tried to sell me a cable for $59.. beware!
with digital signals, you either get the signal or you don't.
Great advice about the cables HDMI and otherwise! It's very likely that the acoustics of your listening/viewing room will "eat" any invetement in high end cables -- you'll never notice them.
I have an low end (Linn) audiophile system and was pressured (by the sales guy) to buy some high end audio cables. I told the him that the room acoustics will effect the audio more that the cabling ever would. He then promptly asked if I would like a "room treatment"..... I left the store after that, promising never to return... I ve had that system for about 10 years and it soulds wonderful!

i was in the produce section of a local market, when i happened to overhear the following comment: "we celebrate christ's birth every day of the year, not just on christmas!
" i turned and knew the nature of the source of the comment immediately, judging by the polyester pantsuit and delusional "deer in headlights" look on her face.
her companion replied, "but i like celebrating christmas and don't see anything wrong with it.
Bummer... my parents never thought to "buy me off" with a "Present Day". Maybe if they had, I would still be in the rank and file..
Oh man, I'm glad they didn't.

just wondering how all you slow faders are doing.i know this subject is discussed many times, but personally i wish it was more.we should post every once in a while just to say how we are doing,we need to encourage each other.as for me,it is still going very slow.right now i'm looking into the history that is being covered up.i have learned so much just by reading the older threads.it is very painful for me because this was the truth.and to be finding out so much crap that 99% of jw don't even know,it just is unbelievable.i have cut my field service down, and miss more meetings then i ever did.i'm hoping the sister that is in my face all the time, trying to help me,will forget about me soon......so how are you doing?.
I think out fade is working... A sister ran into my Wife at the store and she couldnt remember my Wife's name. We used to relatively close to this sister and her husband.

Just came across this:
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2009/12/03/20091203Phoenix-Mormon-Temple-1203.html
The Phoenix City Council granted 10 feet of height to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wednesday. It means construction will start on the Phoenix temple, which will be 40 feet tall, and the 86-foot steeple and spire, at 5104 W. Pinnacle Peak Road in 18 months. About 1,000 people streamed into the Orpheum Theatre for the City Council meeting. Some residents were upset about the height of the steeple and spire. A city planning official, however, told them that the federal Religious Freedom Act permits churches to be built in any type of zoning and does not restrict the height. Members of the Little Deer Valley Homeowners group also raised concerns that the temple would overtake the neighborhood and worried that a nearby two-lane road couldn't accommodate visitors.
I wonder if they could build a monsterous tower in my neighborhood.

Im with TD on this as well.. Its a facinating historical document containing the views and opinions of primitive cultures. There are some good morality and ethics lessions there as well. As for a factual document about mankind's creation.... I dont think so
Anything that comes from organized religion is barf... IMHO

Thanks all for your responses. Google... duh - don't know why I didn't think of that.
I remember them trying to get an Assembly Hall here for a while - I've just been trying to avoid anyone who might know
As far as construction goes, Ive noticed a few kindom halls popup here and there, but most of the "older" locations are going mostly or entirely hispanic.
cheers
