my wife and i have been quietly going about our fade for about 10 years.

now i'm getting old jw friend requests on facebook.

i used to be pretty close with them, but havent done anything with them for years.

My Wife and I have been quietly going about our fade for about 10 years. Now I'm getting old JW friend requests on facebook. I used to be pretty close with them, but havent done anything with them for years. My concern is that they will "wiggle" their way back into our life in a way that will give the Elders some rope to hang us... I have ignored several requests, but I keep getting more. I wonder if there is some "cooperation" between them to reconnect with us "lost ones"...

What do y'all think? Am I being paranoid, or not? --- thanks

i heard a song that i thought was pretty.

however, for the first time im analizing their music;do they belive in satanism?they always talk about the enemy god not in words, hiding words to be exact..or im just imagining things.

anyways, i've deleted their music.

When the meetings seem endless....

what do you do/used to do?i go to the bathroom for more than 10 mins,then read something irrelevant or think of something irrelevant or go out for a while and so the meeting comes to an end..

As a kid I wasn't allowed any paper to draw on or I would doodle and not pay attention. So the only thing I could do was take 1 minute cat-naps until my parents caught me and pinched me to stay awake. Then I'd stare mindlessly into space until I fell asleep again.

So we have a few votes for lying scumbags looking to prophet (sic) and build empires on the backs of the rank and file. And we have a couple votes for "lucky" nitwits who are just perpetuating the machine out of fear and loss of social contact.

So I think (as rightly suggested by Flipper) I need to look at their track record. I have seen/read many articles and journals (including the books by Ray Franz) explaining in great detail the failure and fraud of the WTBS. Is there a concise list (bullet points with references) of clear points someplace that I can use as a foundation for discussions with my family members who are still in? Thanks all!

Interesting points! I didn’t think about the Fear aspect.. They are bound by the same handcuffs that all the rank and file are. Fear of the big DF! It's a group conscience thing. They are all bound by the thoughts/feelings of the greater group. Kind of like an emergent intelligence, more insidious than any one individual.

What's your favorite Canadian band?

since we have a lot of canadian friends on this board, i have to ask - who are your favorite canadian bands?.

mine is rush.

they have been one of my favorite bands ever since i can remember.. they totally rule........the music and lyrics are all top notch.. the other one is the tea party - jeff martin is a genius.

Since I already voted for Rush. All I can do is bump this thread and mention that they are touring this summer. It sucks that they are not coming to Arizona. Maybe time for a road trip to Denver.. Two shows at Red Rocks to choose from... woo hoo!
