Thanks for the research Blondie :) You're a wealth of information. Are you still 'in', or fading or out?

Brits, Scots, and SA's Don't Know How to Spell

Oh, oh and we call a trunk a 'boot'. I liked that comment about how not all Scots would like being called a Brit..lol. My family is all English/Scottish and that's how we differentiate it. 'You' are English and 'they' are Scottish...lol. The Scots have alot of pride in their origins :) (which are mainly Irish...lol).

If you pray, do you say 'Jehovah'...?
by wantstoleave injust wondering of those that pray and who have left the organisation, do you still address god as jehovah?.
i think i'm currently in that awkward stage where i'm neither in or out, yet don't feel i should even address, or have the right, to talk to god (jehovah) until i decide where i sit.
so i'm wondering if it's hypocritical to pray and use his name.

Chronic illness....how do you deal with it now?
by wantstoleave infor many jw's i know personally, who suffer from chronic illness, the hope of 'the new system' is what they look forward to.
you know, being able to throw the cane away, lose the wheelchair, see again etc.. now that you're out of the organisation, how do you deal with chronic illness?
if you suffer with an affliction, disease, impairment, how has your hope changed?

November 15 Watchtower (Study Edition) - discourages showing affection to your spouse
by CrazyBlonde inanother gem from the same edition - article to be studied december 28 - january 3 (which most will miss lol coz of summer vacation) entitled "what do your prayers say about you?
" page 6 para 19 reads:.
19 when we are being represented in public prayer, we need to display reverential "fear of god.

Awsnap, yes you're right. I hadn't thought of that. So this article will only be given to publishers (study edition), not people on the doors.
Wow, can you imagine a person at the doors reading this? They would think it's crap and that JW's are messed up!
I'm quite annoyed by this article. Elders, pioneers, everyone in my area embraces during the prayer. I guess it makes them feel closer together, bonding etc. And if people don't want to see it, then they should keep their eyes SHUT! Lol...

What a load of rubbish. Now married couples can't hold hands? Dear oh dear. Why are they being so picky? It's getting ridiculous.

Halloween
by wantstoleave ini live in a country where this isn't typically a big event, and only in recent years have more started doing the whole 'trick or treat' thing.
however, i have been invited to a halloween party.
i've never participated in it before.. problem is this: i am still scared of my parents, they are a big part of my life, and know most of everything i do.

Thanks everyone :)
Yknot, yes, the elders know how he isn't supporting his children. They seem sympathetic to my situation, but powerless to do much else regards the ex. I think you're partly right on the social interaction front. I also think too that part of me feels as if I've missed out on things, and kind of want to go 'all out' and start doing things...lol. I know, baby steps, baby steps :) That's where I think dissed has it right, too soon for coming out maybe.
I get the feeling that this party at my friends house is just that. A party. Maybe people will dress up, I don't know. There will be other kids there, so maybe there will be some door knocking. Don't know the details yet.

Sleepwalking/Sleeptalking
by palmtree67 inapparently, i am quite the sleepwalker/talker.. i actually walk around the house, and have entire conversations in my sleep.. should i be held accountable for what i do/say?.
i don't know if this means anything, but my dreams are also very vivid.
if i am woken up from the middle of a dream it takes me a long time to get back to reality.
