Thanks for pointing out the other religions that don't go to war....not ignorance on my part (as Homer suggests), I just honestly never knew.

What are your feelings about War?
by wantstoleave inmy dad brought out a good point today.
he said how can for example, a catholic in one country go to war against a catholic in another country and both claim to have god on their side?
for instance, the catholic priest on one side prays for that side, and the catholic priest on the other side prays for his side.

I got pregnant just after my wedding (married in January, had baby in December). Im sure people looked at me funny and I know many judged me for having a baby so soon after getting married. But its none of their business when it comes down to it. Nothing wrong with honeymoon babies :) I then had my 2nd baby 18mths later. Glutton for punishment maybe...lol but I love them to pieces and wouldn't change a thing about the timing.

Are you scared to watch the news?
by wantstoleave ini'm a newbie as far as delving into information other than wt based, and have only just started posting on this board...so maybe the following thought will be old hat to some of you, not a concern or perhaps something you occasionally think about.
but, are you scared to watch the news?
purely for the fact of seeing things go on in the world that would prompt you to think about your jw upbringing?

Sacramento...I have given homeless people drinks and food :) I've helped complete strangers quite alot. I donate to charity regularly and have already instilled that in my children, to help others. They are preschoolers and often go through their toys and say 'mummy can we give this to charity kids?'. Maybe I was an exception within the Jw's? I don't know. But I'd like to think that not all Jw's are heartless. My Grandma is a Catholic, yet at xmas time when she helps her church organise food hampers for members of the local community - I go and give a helping hand. To me, I see it as helping the community, as they don't concentrate on which faith a person belongs to, rather who needs the help.

Majestic, I'd heard too somewhere that they didn't have to be annointed either. Was that an old thought? Or have the GB always been annointed only?

I've never gambled at all. Not even a raffle ticket. One of these days I'll buy a lottery ticket I think.
