I didn't have the drugs, was trying for the natural birth experience. I guess I saw it was wonderful in the sense that the body is an amazing thing, and capable of so much. Nurturing a baby in your womb for 9mths and then giving birth, it was just such a momentous thing for me.

Did You Ever Secretly "Sin" & The Elders Never Knew About It?
by minimus inwe, as elders, would every so often give a little talk about keeping the congregation clean and that if anyone felt the need to talk to us, to get whatever is bothering them off their chest, we would be readily available to them.
you'd be shocked to see how many would tell us some naughty things they were feeling guilty about.. i'm sure there were plenty of smart people who simply kept quiet and didn't say a word.. here's your opportunity to tell us what you wouldn't tell them..

I'm like Sylvia...didn't pay for a few things here and there (by accident), but never confessed. Figured I did enough good in the world to cover up the little indiscretions :)

I never made a sound giving birth, don't know how I managed not to! My first was 9lb on due date. My second was premature by a few weeks and still well over 8lb. It's a wonderful experience giving birth, even for all the pain.

Frustrated
by Luo bou to inno doe not that kind.. like many of you i have family and friends that are the living dead.
they can walk straight past me as if i don't exist.
i'd like to bury them, morn the loss and accept that i can no longer relate to them, but they are still walking around and as pope said " hope springs eternal in the human breast" i am a fighter, but this cult mindset is so elusive.

My dad talks about my brother as 'the living dead' because he is neither in nor out...never Df, but isn't an active witness. I hate that expression, living dead...and I had never heard it before until my dad said it..and now you. It's just so sad that this religion can shun flesh and blood because of beliefs :( Luckily my brother isn't shunned, but if he was Df, I wonder if it would be a different story :(

Local needs
by yellow ini recently d/a and wrote a letter concerning my views at the same time.
a few weeks prior a bro was d/f, now i know they normally have local needs talks shortly after these announcements which speak about the sin without naming the person.
what alarms me is that they are having a series of these talks.

In the past they would Df and tell the audience what the person had done wrong, so be glad that they didn't directly say it was you being apostate. People can assume that's what you did, but there's no real proof. That's why you can't sue. I'm sure that's why they stopped describing what sin people had committed, to save the legal hassle.

I told my wife I will start pioneering next month ...
by Albert Einstein in... if she will prove me from the bible accuracy of 1914. and i stressed i really mean it.. we had one of the usual evening discussions and this was the result.. she said she is not ready for this and must do some preparation and aditional study (which is funny for somebody raised up in a hard-core jw family, baptized over 25 years, who spent over a decade in regular pioneering, reads wt for hours every week and have brought several people into jw cult...).
but ok, she pulled out several publications and is doing her preparation now and tonight we will have the discussion.. to motivate her i told her:.
1) if you will be succesfull i will go to preach to everybody in our street about 1914/607 during my pioneering.

I have always wanted to go but people always put me off saying that South Africa is the rape capital of the world. One rape every 26 seconds or something. I do think Cape Town in particular would be beautiful to visit. It looks so lovely on all the documentaries.

Oh Frank that's awful! That's just plain weird of them to be jubilant over 'losing someone to the world'. Must have been sad for you listening to it

From Noah's Ark to Australia - Awake! Jan. 8, 1969 pp. 5-8
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inso, how did the kangaroos get from noah's ark to australia?
i'd never found any references in watchtower litteratrash, until i stumbled upon this farticle "from noah's ark to australia" in the 1969 awake bound volume.
most of it is wordy and rather pointless, so i only typed two middle subheadings for consideration:.
