From Noah's Ark to Australia - Awake! Jan. 8, 1969 pp. 5-8
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inso, how did the kangaroos get from noah's ark to australia?
i'd never found any references in watchtower litteratrash, until i stumbled upon this farticle "from noah's ark to australia" in the 1969 awake bound volume.
most of it is wordy and rather pointless, so i only typed two middle subheadings for consideration:.

Chris...hahaha!! Koalas move so slow and sleep most of the day, actually, I think they are only awake a few hours of the day in fact. From memory, I think they sleep about 18hrs or more per 24hr period. Anyway, hard to imagine them making the journey during the night, at their slow pace...lol.

There's A Ghost At My Place Of Employment
by finallysomepride inok some of you will laugh at this, but it's true, there is a spirit that haunts the premises where i work.. it has spoken to me once when i was locking up, it was 1 single word "hello", i looked around and saw nothing, i ignored it, set the alarm locked the door & went home.
other times i have felt something brush passed me as i have entered the building early in the morning.
the experience that got to me most happened the other nite when i was called back to the store by security, as i pulled into the drive way there was a man standing at the rear of the building, in the split second of looking away he dissapeared, there's no way that he could have run off the property in that split second.. what do you think?.

I know an elderly couple that have been witnesses about 40yrs now, but when they were first married had 'demon attacks'. The husband would wake during the night with something on top of him, choking him. His wife would try and help him, but was pushed off. They also had plates thrown around the room, books fly off shelves etc. This went on some time, until one day they started studying and learned to 'call on the name of Jehovah'. They say that once they started that, the attacks stopped. They moved from that house and had no further trouble. Kind of eerie!

My goodness, I didn't know that listing an elder changes who can or cannot get information on a loved one. That is scary. Is this the blood card we're talking about? Let us know how you get on....hope your mum can change it!

Wasanelder is right, it's nice that this brother likes being in your husbands company and is able to get out and about. Sometimes for instance, when people retire, they have to find a new purpose, new goals/hobbies because they become totally lost. This brother has a continued purpose and it's probably keeping him alive.

Interesting Thought about JW's and People Outside the Org
by Mrs. Witness inon another thread, aude sapeare said:.
jws make this huge assumption that once you leave the 'protection' of the org, you will go off the deep end and become totally irresponsible, drink, smoke, do drugs and have sex with anyone and anything.. that is what i have been fighting with my husband about for 3 years now.
when he was kicked out of his jw's mom's house when he was 15, that is exactly what he did for about 20 years.

I understand his thinking, having been raised a witness myself. We are taught that everyone but Jw's are bad and not to be trusted. So those of us who leave still have that issue of trust, at least initially anyway. We no longer have 'the protection' of Jehovah, so we feel scared. We try to make a life for ourselves in 'the world', yet don't trust anyone. It has been drummed into us our entire lives that noone but Jehovah's people are worthy, that they don't have our best interests at heart...so they will lie to us and cheat us at every opportunity. We fear life itself. I am a new 'fader' and don't mind saying how scared I am. Everything I've ever known has been turned upside down and I feel confused, trapped and frightened.
If your husband were to tell an elder or witness how he's feeling, they would tell him 'well done, you have a conscience'. My dad always said that to me, that he liked how my conscience was 'working' and how loyal I was to Jehovah. We are brought up to hear how loving a God he is, yet die hard Jw's are scared of his wrath.
I really doubt your husband will change his thinking after all these years. He sees the elders as the gateway to Jehovah, so he will continue to run to them when he does something he sees as wrong in Jehovah's eyes. It's not something that can be easily untrained unfortunately. I think leaving the organisation as compared to other religions, is very difficult because there is so much inner guilt from years of indoctrinating.
I hope things get better for you both...it may be a long road, but I hope your husband too comes to some kind of peace of mind

a very weird elder
by asilentone ini remember an elder in my congregation gave the talk "godly view of sex and marriage" in the 90's.
he was talking about masturbation.
he said to the audience if you have any problems with masturbation, please let him know, he also said please do not be embarrassed.

I find it odd that he had to bring up masturbation in a talk about sex and marriage. Is it normal to do so in those talks? Usually the marriage/sex talks I've heard revolve around the wife 'paying her due'. I don't think I've heard anything about masturbation before. You would assume it had to be a problem area in the congregation for him to mention it. But how would he know that unless lots had already been confessing? Weird is an understatement.
