  Do You Miss The Witnesses Even A Little Bit?

  I'm like cantleave, still associating on and off with some. In fact, I have a wedding to attend in a couple of weeks. So I know that at least til then I need to keep quiet on things, otherwise I won't be able to go...lol.

  I won't miss the people when I finally leave. I don't have any close friends 'in the truth' anyway, so nothing to miss. I won't miss the meetings, field service or guilt trips. If my family shuns me, I will miss them greatly. I think overall, I will miss the security that being a witness brought - thinking that there was going to be a paradise, and that I'd see loved ones again. That kind of thing.

  Are There Certain Posters You Trust Here?

  i've been on this site for a number of years now.

  i don't easily trust just anybody.

  having said that, there are a few persons here that know my real identity and i'm comfortable with them.. are there certain posters that you trust here?.

  I am like Aguest, tend to trust everyone, then get burnt But having been through a year or more of hell, I'm becoming more wary. Having said that, there are many on this forum I trust and I've only been posting for near a couple of months. I read what everyone says, as I value their opinion. Doesn't mean I have to agree or heed it, but I take it on board because that's the type of person I am Like others have said, we are all at different stages in our journey, and information/support from others who have been there, done that, is invaluable. I'm really enjoying my time here with you all :)

  again please fill in the blanks.... in my experiance, a window cleaner, skinny to the point of skin and bones, no real education but belives that everything he tells you is true if it comes from the borg, views the sisters as toliet cleaning minons and gets a real kick out of climbing the jw rank ladder!.

  CO asked my wife to wash his laundry...

  well this happened some 9 years ago, while we were very active and busy in the congregation..... (in my country - eastern europe - there are no laundromats and most people have their washers at home...).

  the co was single (age 45?

  ) and after one of the meetings he came to my wife with a plastic bag full of laundry and asked my wife politely if she could wash it for him till the next meeting.

  Snoozy that's awful! You would think she'd be grateful for the offer of cleaning her floors, but telling you how to do it? That's just horrible! She needs to be reminded of the saying 'never look a gift horse in the mouth'. Her floors were being cleaned, it didn't matter how they were being cleaned, it was getting done, so she should've shut her trap! How irritating!! You must've been pretty long suffering to bite your tongue. Not sure I would've been able to...lol.

  Did You Personally Know Any JWs That Were Sexually Molested By Other JWs?

  i knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.

  it was not typical in my experience.

  what about you???.

  "Jehovah will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear"

  i used to pin all my hopes on this scripture, cling to it no matter what.

  eventually i realised that it was rubbish!

  life in the borg is so tramatic that it will often be way beyond what you can bear, and the only "comfort" you might get?

  I really feel for those that took their own life, as well as the people they left behind. I know that 'back when', I would cry myself to sleep most nights because I felt inadequate, like I was never doing enough for Jehovah, and also because I was at an age where the organisation said I should be married and because I wasn't 'what is wrong with you?'. I was extremely lonely 'in the truth' as was my brother. He eventually faded away, moved away in fact - which gave him freedom he couldn't experience within the confines of living at home. He met his now soon to be wife, and is blissfully happy with her, even though he continues to carry guilt about not being a witness. I on the other hand married the first person that came along, when I was 24 (big mistake).

  If my brother hadn't got out when he did, he may have followed through, which was always our fear. I only wish now I could somehow stop his feelings of guilt for not being a witness.

  Oh I remember that too! Does anyone else remember being told how witnesses who were being beat up by police would feel the first punch, but not subsequent ones? Or how like Snoozy says, you would pass out before the pain became too bad? There were so many stories floating around of how witnesses would be beaten black and blue but wouldn't feel a thing. Apparent eye witness and personal accounts of having been through it. I always used to wonder then, how some witnesses still died after being tortured, how would Jehovah choose this one to survive, but not that one.

  Yes. In 1992 a girl I knew got pregnant at 13 and only then did the truth come out about whose baby it was. It was her sisters husband (an MS) who was abusing her. Apparently it had been going on since she was about 8. No-one had a clue. When her parents told the elders, they tried to keep it quiet, as they didn't want any media surrounding it. The parents were fuming, understandably but listened to the elders, and nothing was done.

  He and his wife moved to another state with their young daughter, and went on to have another baby. To this day, neither he or the girls sister have any contact with the family. I can't believe that her sister took his side, after abusing that poor girl for 5yrs! He also retained his good standing within the congregation, and remained an MS. Sickening!

  The girl had the baby. She was still 13 when he was born. A baby having a baby. She married at 18, had 2 more children and then divorced from her husband after he cheated on her. As far as I know, she's still a witness, as are her children.

  Good grief, surely a grown man would know how to wash his own clothes? No way would I ever make someone else wash mine. I'd sooner hand wash them myself if I had no washer! Sheer cheek asking someone else to do your laundry.

  This was one scripture I used to hold close too. Every time I'd endure a tragedy, or something upsetting me, I'd remember not to worry, as Jehovah would put an end to it if he thought I couldn't manage it. I don't know what I believe anymore
