They used to give a talk a few weeks after someone was DF or whatever. Wait for the talk if you have no connections and that should tell you what happened.

I knew many who were "social jws', just there for the family and friends. I don't blame them. The WTS forces you into this. I also knew the people who struggled with "sins" and never could quite make it as an approved associate. Those I felt the worst for b/c they were just human and took every word the mags and elders said as coming from God. They either had alcohol problems or marriage problems or their kids were running wild ( often with the elders kids). They tried but just could not fit in with all the "good jws"- you know the really good elders kids who were some of the most wild kids around. They usually got away with it and the sincere , "loaded down with sins" people would confess and be DF.
I think some of the most fake jws I ever knew were elders, Ms,Do, Co and pioneers. They would do anything to retain that title. The ones that truly took to heart what they heard but had a habit beating themselves up too much would be Df and shunnned. Jws can be so fooled easly but charm and fun people.

I would advise my child to try and be successful b/c he can can be both successful and happy. They are not mutally exculsive. Success will bring many ways to find happiness. Being happy is nice, but it does not feed your children or put a roof over your head.
!! Cheat. some opportunties will never come you way if they are once missed. Cheating to get into a good university is not acceptable to me. You have not commited murder. Even Captain Kirk changed the rules . Sometimes you have to change the rules.

Can they convice the elders that he was just mentally ill and still loved Jah? If they can, then I don't see why the jw family member can't do it. It would be such a witness to the world. ( ugh) Also, think how damning it will be if they refuse to do the funeral? That looks really cold.
I'd opt for a secualr funeral if it was me, but I do not know how active Mrs. Jackson currently is with the jws. It is certainly not necessary that he be buried by jws. he was an adult and can choose his own religion and she should know that.

I guess we will never really understand what happened to Michael Jackson. I know he was brilliant and created a lot of wonderful music . I personally feel he was a very tortured soul and mentally ill at the end. Since I have been through a dark night of my soul a few times- I find it difficult to judge him. He died a shell of a human being.

I attended normal school all my life but alas I am a crappy speller. ( and on firefox and can't use spell check).
As a child I used to add XYZ to words to make sure they were large enough to look right- actually it was sort of cute. There is a group of students my age in states who did not learn to spell correctly. It is not our fault- the system was trying new things then, like NEW MATH-remember that?
