bad manic episode-went to hospital

hi-- for those of you who struggle with bipolar & depression, just wanted to share my experiences.

i had a major manic episode last month and spent a week in a phsyciatric hospital, what an experience that was!

not fun.

depakote has been used widely for bipolar since the 80's. It is not expensive. side effects are a b*tch, weight gain, hair loss and funked up skin. but it does work. folks who take it say they feel they have aged 20 yrs. I took it for about 2 yrs late 80's early 90;s and stopped it bc it wrecked my hair and skin and to say nothing of weight gain. the side effects gradually go away once you stop it.

do not under any circumstances stop a med without consulting your doc. I had to taper off this drug.

Almost always any jws charity will only be to those who served in higher positions etc. Worldly churches do not require you be a Star member to get assistance.

That was in the Rutherford era. By the 80's or before the jws were distancing themselves from many things , as evidenced by asking folks to get rid of their old books etc.

The 80's are still fresh in my mind, it was a scary decade.. The witnesses were very paranoid and certain expressions were associated with apostates. JW was one of them. I was told in no uncertain terms by a group of elders that use of that expression identified me with apostates as the witnesses viewed it as an insult .

No, Steve I mean the literal expression JW, not Jehovah's witnesses, the words J and W. I was told that only the apostates called the witnesses JW"S and they viewed it as an insult. This may also be why the term "friends" and other things that were used many many years ago can now be associated with apostates. Rutherford era teachings are viewed as apostate now. Not the name but I know the acronym JW is viewed as the way apostates talk.

this all got really bad during the 80's related to the apostasy at head quarters.

Life after death OR Consciousness after death?

are we conscious after death?

if we don't understand why and how consciousness exsist now, how do we know it doesn't continue after death?

can consciousness survive the death of the body?

I accept that this physical world exists and a spiritual ( heavenly, spirit ) world exists. I am not sure if we ever cross paths, but the Bible does say that we shall be changed in a twinkling of an eye at death. Of course jws would have you believe this only applies to the 144,000. There is no proof of that unless you accept the WT as inspired and use it in place of the Bible.

This is a fairly commonly held belief among mainstream Christan's. The rest of the beliefs about reincarnation and spirit guides and new agey stuff, well, keep on going down that rabbit hole. It really gets confusing. I think the simple beliefs that we live now and can get a heavenly reward at death are not too complicated and do not interfere with my life now. ( ie I am not waiting for the end ).

for instance, if her father built a fire ring at the beach, he purposely put a corner on it so satan couldn't catch them.

I'm surprised they embrace the name JW. Years ago it was despised by most jws in the know-they knew it was used exclusively by apostates. I used to use it and was firmly told that only apostates referred to the witnesses as JW"s.

A circle is cast for protection; the circle of life etc. It has sacred meanings. In tarot the card " wheel" is a circle.

Your friends father probably had some superstition in his upbringing. Jws from the early years were very superstitious.

Does anyone know what is happening with Italy's (Rome) Bethel???

there are rumors out, that the italy (rome) bethel is being shut down and putting out to pasture a large portion of the bethel staff.. has anyone heard anything... ?.

the word is that everyone but the most senior members will be let go.

the senior bethel family members will be reassigned.
