I remember being told the same thing, they can hear you but can't read your thoughts. So I felt safe thinking about all the bad things I wanted to without acting them out. However, I did get brave and wanted to test this theory out and on more than one occasion would yell out "i want to worship Satan" and nothing happened. So then I thought it was all bs cuz wouldn't he take someone up on that, especially one of Jah's precious people??

Prince wrote a Kingdom Melody for the Minnesota Vikings
by hemp lover inon local sports radio this morning, they played "purple and gold", a song prince was inspired to write after the vikings embarrassed the cowboys last sunday.
it sounds like a kingdom melody to me.
some of the lyrics refer to eyes being raised as a veil lifts in the sky, heavenly thrones, swords in hand, war, truth will be told.

The Gawker.com had an article on it and a reader commented, asking "is this a song about the Vikings or Jehovah?"
It is gawd awful and I'm still hoping it's an internet prank and Prince had nothing to do with this.

Missing School Functions
by WTWizard ini know that the witlesses are not supposed to go to many school activities.
these include after-school sports and competitions, scouting, and other extra-curricular activities and class trips that may last beyond school hours.
the most cited excuses (flimsy they may be) are bad associations, the money, time, and the possibility of compromise.. now, i wonder how many people have missed field trips that happened during normal school hours because of being witlesses.

As long as the field trips were during school, I didn't have a problem. With one exception-in 4th grade (in the 70's), I was not allowed to go with my class to visit a fort built in the mid 1800's as an Indian defense. It had been a historical site for a 100 years but I guess was still viewed as gov't/ military to my parents and I couldn't go. I have no doubt any JW would have a problem with touring it today, one of those things that changes after time. It was and still is just benign tourist site.

I have never heard of these schools before and I am in my mid 40's. Graduating in the midwest in the early 80's, no one I knew home schooled yet. What the super zealous did was graduate early by going to summer school and taking required classes (only required-no art, business, acctg, ) in grades ahead of them. This got my girlfriend out a whole year ahead of me....wow. I was so grateful my parents never made me or suggested I do the same. I loved school and did as much as I could get away with to be normal and fit in.
