  i was talking to my jw sister the other night, long distance.

  she, like me, was raised a jw.

  she is a sweet, sincere and wonderful woman.

  Muslem women have absolutly no power. They can't easily divorce. If their own families feel they have discraced them, they will murder them. They never get child custody and they only get to take their personal property in dicorce. This is why they buy all that jewlery with their dowery money. Note all the gold jewlery they wear. It's the only thing they get to take with them if their husbands decide they want wife number 5. Since men may have up to 4 wives. In some countries they can have 5 wives. So, I guess that blows your theory!

  im totally bewildered that norm, kent and jan appear to have distanced themselves from this site, particularly in view of the many excellent articles that have been written by this trio.. this was norms latest post on kents discussion forum, it sat on site for almost a day before anyone responded:.

I thought they were American when I first meet them.

  I don't have a problem with Norm's views. Some Americans have difficulty with forieners critizing their goverment. However, the US governemnt acts as a terrorist and has effected everyone. So, in my opinion anyone has a right to voice their opinions about the US government.

  I think your reading into her statement in a different direction. She may have been saying that her own marriage has been difficult at times and if it weren't for their beliefs they may not be together. The fact is that divorce is common in society today and people do get divorced because of minor issues. She may not have been making a judgmental statement about you. It sounded like she was revealing something about her own marriage.

  Seedy you can't compare China, they are only allowed one child per couple. Their government has severe penalties if they have more than one child and this can be a contributing factor fro them not divorcing as much. In our society it is too easy fro men to just pick up and start new families when they tire of the old one.

  in the congregation i grew up in, there was a sister about ten years older than me.

  her first name was joanne.. more than once, when our family traveled, joanne came along as a 'nanny' of sorts--so that my parents could enjoy each others company without their children present once in a while.

  (priceless to parents, lol).

  Well, I guess you all know by now I don't care if anyone likes me...LOL

  Everyone accuires this awareness, if they grow up. Eventually we realize not everyone will like us. And they may not have a reason why they don't like us. They just don't and that's the way it is.

  hands up who thought i was going to say "fold it in half" ?.

  actually, i need someone with a paypal account to buy something off my site to test the instant payment notification system i've setup to make sure it emails the order as a file attachment and / or sends the correct url to download from.. if anyone is willing to help me test this then you should email me first and i will send you a link to test.

  after you have bought a test component then i will refund you double the amount to your paypal account (but don't get too excited or quit your day job just yet ... it will only be $1 - $5 .

  while it is true that the watchtower harbors pedophiles and stifles its victims, it is also true that not every pedophile and sexual offender in the watchtower got this same treatment.

  there are some sexual offenders who have been caught and expelled from the organization.. is there any reason to think that some of them have not made their way to this forum?

  that these perpetrators are watching everything we say and do here on this board?.

  Is it ever ok not to expose pedophilia?

  some comments in another thread got me thinking about this.. i can't imagine any scenario wherein it would be best to cover over pedophilia.

  the needs/feelings of the victim was brought up as a possible reason.

  i think the needs of society outweigh the needs of the victim six billion to one, but i also think that this means what is good for society is also exactly what is best for the victim.

  I can't think of scenario where this may happen. However if the victims were harmed I think it would be questionable.

  Are you referring to exposing them after they are released from prison?
  Can't we just lock them up for life?
