hi everyone, i too have been lurking for a few weeks and thought it was time i made myself known.
i am not a jw but i am married to a man who is from a multi-generational family of jw's (although he has not been to meetings since he was old enough to object).
although i have never had any direct involvement with the organisation itself, i find my life is constantly infulenced by these people who judge, shun and avoid my husband and i (i guess they don't want to mix with "worldy people" such as us).

I see that you have noticed how dysfunctional some dub families are...LOL You will see how bad it really is across the board by listening to some stories here. Hope you stay around awhile. I like fresh views.

i was thinking mainly of lee elder, but it seems that that a concise, user-friendly list of the permissible/prohibited blood fractions of current jw policy would be more than a mere convenience... it has life-saving potential!
the mere fact that the watchtower does not see fit to clear the air and print a simple summary of the current blood fraction policy in a ``question from readers'' article or something.. their failure to do so thus far speaks volumes as to how little regard they have for the lives of their drones especially of the children who, in view of the stagnation of the organization, are the society's most promising -- and maybe only -- source of future growth.
brooklyn seems to prefer distributing ``no blood'' cards to the flock and apparently has no interest in clarifying a matter they alone have obfuscated by their confusing and often contradictory rhetoric.
They have a video now for the blood issue which they encourage every dub to buy and watch.

the jw's always teach that our prayers should not be repetitive.. however, for those that are still "active" (and for those who still remember), i present to you typical words or phrases that make up a jw prayer.. feel free to add to the list!.
-"dear heavenly father, jehovah" or "jehovah god".
-"bowed heads and humble hearts".

I agree everyone has the right to choose how they believe and worship! And no Violet you don't have to jusify your beliefs to anyone, except if you get called before a judical commitee for associating with apostates.

Elsewhere I disagree with you Katie is not an 'attention whore' as you put it. She is a typical kid that wants her families approval. It just so happens that in the JW family to be that perfect pioneer is the goal for that approval. She is moarning because she will never have that relationship with her familiy. She is confused about her sexuality and maybe other thing so she can never be that person and will never have her families approval.
She is going through the period where you wish you didn't know the truth and could just die a happy ingnorant dub!

Since you brought it up...let's discuss this:
You, Larc and Teejay seem to think because I have clarified some things said about Kent's policy of copying and pasting that I have taken sides with the people there. And that is not true. You have a subjective view of this matter(between you all). However, I have an objective view since I have not been hurt by either group.
If I saw someone posting inaccurate hurtful information about any of you. I would say something as well. Since, they are being careful right now over there, they haven't been talking about over here. So I haven't had to speak up about anything. I would advocate for anyone I thought was wronged.
Really, If I saw someone posting inaccurate things over there I would say something. I'm not mean... ask Teejay. I'm not an unreasonable sort, really. I'm not here to fight with people. Only to freely express my views about the WT and religion or whatever may arise.
However, I won't take any c*** from anyone. If you knew what I did for a living then you would understand...LOL Perhaps you will someday if we become friends. We are not so different.

Prisca, I'm not defending THE NORWEGIANS. I was mearly stating that as an American I don't have a problem with others critizing this goverment since it acts as a terrorist and effects everyone else. I mentioned Norm since that is who Englishman was talking about.
I should say including you, Prisca. I have no problem with non-Americans criticizing the US government because it effects everyone. Is that clear enough?
