  what proof does wt cite that the formation of jw movement began in "first century"?.

  did the grassroots originate before jesus came on the scene?

  or was it during the time of his ministry?

  'If you can't make it then fake it', I guess that is the motto of every small fish that wants to look big and important. If you don't have substance then put on lots of makeup powder (smokescreen). Such is not only the case with JW but with many other small groups even quasi-religious one such as Freemasons who claim lineage all the way to pyramid builders. Direct link between those of course is as good as between me and King Arthur, but hey as long as someone is eager to believe in something people will keep inventing stories.
