4)Learned alot from being on this site on things after all these years I still had questions about.
whether you are new 'out' of the org or you have been out for a number of years, how does the org affect your life at the moment?.
how do you feel about the way the religion influences your life at the moment, even in the smallest ways?.
thanks.. please state how long you have been away from the religion if possible.. .

hey, im bohms girlfriend.. i have been arguing alot with bohm himself about the huge amount of time he spends in here:-) now i've decidet to look it out my self.. about me: i have growen up in the socalled "truth".
i was baptised when i was 18 - because of an earlier boyfriend, who wouldnt be with me when i was not.
now i really hate him for it... it would have been so much easier if ive never got baptised.
HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well the holidays are coming and there all those songs that will be on the radio and tv that we weren't allowed to sing or even listen to.. but there are other songs that weren't holiday songs.. my favorite is hallelujah by k. d. lang.
i cannot get that one out of my head this morning.
i heard a different rendition the other day and kept hearing kd in my head thinking that is where the singer would go.
My parents said that we shouldn't listen to "Imagine"- By Elton John.
or "losing my religion" - by REM
i can scarcley believe my eyes.
i read in another thread about c. t. russells attitude that his 'studies in the scriptures' is better than the bible and come to the conclusion they are not god abandoned today, god was never there.. fast forward to modern times and they are still at it, likening their body of teachings as being part of the bible.. most of you already know the pasages in their own lit that i refer to, i'm just stating my feelings as i dismantle a 38 year old belief system.. it seems to me, that all along, the belief of the watchtower society is this: our writings are true, they are backed up by the bible.
rather than, the bible is true, backed up by our writings.. disapointed.
Is this the line?
this is something i've heard lately.
i have a feeling like other seemingly innocuous words, that this one actually has special meaning in jw speak.
or am i wrong?
Your "Spirituality" is measured by the amount of control the GB has over you.
if you know whether the posters here are male or female?
does it make a difference in the way you interact?.
Kinda, well not really, ahh I don't know.
when we were jw's we 'volunteered' our time to help others learn the 'truth'.. in what ways do you volunteer your time now that you are out and are free to help others as you see fit?.
.
I lived on the streets for about nine months. During that time the Community Outreach Center helped me out alot. I was able to donate a trunk load of Turkeys and food to them this year, and I was really proud to do so! I reccommend everyone to just look at their website. www.pazdecristo.org I also help out my neighbors who are elderly and volunteer for Neighborhood watch programs.
as a kid, i was.
whenever i recieved "persecution", i knew i was doing something good for jehovah.. "worldly" people about my being a jw.. were you proud or ashamed as a witness?.
I was embarrased to be a JW when I was in it. Even now I find it embarrasing to say I was a JW.
alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.
if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.
for the most of this decade i have been living & working in brisbane, queensland, australia.. .
Someone PM me and tell me how to get those neat pictures under your name, gender indicator, and flag. BTW I'm from Arizona, USA!!
for 26 years, marilyn zweifel has been standing by to take the calls from all of those who have been touched by the tentacles of the watchtower organization.
she has helped so many people to work out their problems and suffering because of the jehovah's witnesses.
marilyn will be our guest on the six screens of the watchtower conference call saturday, november 21, 2009 7pm est.
I called that number one time and was very SURPRISED to hear someone actually answer the phone! I thought I was going to get this mundane recording of things that pertain to the WBTS and their claims on the year 1914. When I spoke to Marilyn she was extremely knowledgable and very nice. I was happy I called.
