  BITE Model - Sound Familiar?

  Religions know how to spin things. It's a combo of "we're the answer to all your questions and desires" and the guilt/fear/threat that if you don't agree with them or join them, that you will lose some mythological prize some time after you die (in the past the Christians used to torture and kill people but that's illegal now in most countries. There are some extremist religions that still do this today, however. ).

  It's only when we decide to be intellectually honest with ourselves, do we realize the claims made by the Bible and religions do not add up to reality.
  

  The B.I.T.E model can also be used to analyze non-religious organizations and people as well. Cults are not exclusive to religions. A person who wants to control another person may also employ such tactics as you've listed PE.

  Interesting find in the bible last night

  so i was reading genesis chapter 10 and 11 to see how it explains the man who supposedly is the offspring of noah and he and his offspring become the nation known as egypt.

  in some bibles they actually call him egypt.

  well as i was reading chapter 10 i noticed something.

  Crazyguy, good find. Throughout the Bible there are many nuggets like the one you found which defy logic, reason, mathematics, physics, etc. Many people believe because they were taught to believe from birth. And many atheists report that it wasn't until they actually read the Bible, instead of being maneuvered through it by their religious leaders, that they realized much of was is written in it, is not actually true. I think it is very important to research the history of the Bible. This helped me quite a bit to realize what a sham and a fraud religion is.
  

  It is a requirement of faith to abandon logic and reason. But wanting something to be true does not mean that it actually is.

  I have no prblems with "new light"

  there is nothing wrong with accepting new ideas.

  even apostle paul changed his mind when he "saw the light".

  They need to stop calling themselves "The Truth" and "God's Channel". Because if new blight contradicts their old blight, then they certainly do not have the truth nor can they be God's Mouthpiece (unless God is messing with them... or God doesn't exist and it's just all crap their pulling from their a$$e$).

  I had an interesting exchange with my parents on this. Back in my 20's, with both of my parents present I asked them outright "Is the Watchtower God's chosen organization, his sole channel of communication?" (You can probably guess where I would be going with this as it doesn't really matter what the answer is... Botchtower is just another religion serving up BS as Truth ... and hurting people in the process).
  

  At exactly the same time my Mom answers "Yes." and my Dad answers "No."

  The holy shit look that passed between them was priceless. So much for unity. I gave them the eyebrow.

  Do JWs believe they will be the only people saved at the "end"?

  many millions who lived in centuries past and who weren’t jehovah’s witnesses will have an opportunity for salvation.

  additionally, many now living may yet begin to serve god, and they too will gain salvation.

  All hemophiliacs have no hope to survive or have a resurrection since they'll never be able to be Jehovah's Witnesses as they need to take blood products to live. Unless, of course, the GB has finally figured this out and now accept that 'blood products' falls under 'blood fractions'.

  Jehovah loves "even rounded numbers" or could this be a way to disprove the inspiration of the Bible?

  while i am not able to recall them all at this time, i remember so many instances that when a number was quoted in the bible, especially large numbers, they were all "rounded up" to the nearest hundred or thousand.

  for instance the angel killed 185,000 syrians, not 184,879. sampson killed a thousand men with the jawbone of an ass, not 961. and on and on on the even rounded numbers.

  i would guess that it could be agues that these numbers were correct but is that realistic?

  If Jehovah loves even round numbers, why did he create fractions (like blood fractions too ), irrational and odd numbers? Come to think of it, negative and prime numbers also seem a bit dodgy.

  yesterday, i was feeling very blue.

  this is quite unusual for me, as i tend to be quite an upbeat, positive person, so spells of sadness or depression take me by surprise and are a real shock to the system.

  you know, i don’t believe in “putting on a face” or pretending to be ok; this “fake it ’til you make it” malarkey has never been something i’ve liked.

  Sophia and Caleb videos helped wake me up

  so the sophia and caleb videos on jw.org where the parents emotionally abuse their children (especially the sparlock/obey jehovah video and the pay attention at the meetings/death threat video) were real eye openers for me.

  previous to these videos, i was able to delude myself that the crazy, unbalanced behavior i noticed in some witness parents was the result of their own mental issues.

  now i realize this craziness is being pushed and encouraged from the tippy top, from the grand ole maleficent seven.

  how come animals teeth are designed to chew meat?

  sharks for instance have razor sharp pointy teeth these are not to eat vegetation .

  Spiritual to a JW means accepting the Governing Body's interpretation of the scriptures of the Christian Holy Bible and the Watchtower's doctrines that come from that and following the agenda of this organization without question.
