CO visit... Circuit is not growing at all, he said during midweek meeting

so that was a "shocker".

i was not able to attend the meeting.

i had a more important one with my other apostate friends in the area.

Six years ago my Dad's CO told him "The young ones are leaving in droves." Looks like nothing has changed. Awesome!

I have posted this before but I'll repeat what I've said... I work from home full time and they are NOT knocking on my door. Sparrowdown said they aren't knocking on their door either.

It has to be exhausting when no one is interested OR someone is informed and challenges you at the door. So they went to this litter-a-trash cart method and that doesn't seem to be reeling them in either.The further they get from reality, the less attractive they become.

I suggest they start offering freebies... like food/munchies and drinks at the meetings. It might get more to attend. Of course, that's what the churches of 'Christendom' do so they might not want to follow that lead.

i realize that the anointed class inherits heaven while the great crowd inherits a renewed planet earth, but how and when are the anointed chosen?

are these people born with spirits or do they grow them as they live?

when they die, they don't sleep but go right to heaven, right?

There is no 'choosing'. You just feel it. Like something comes over you. That's what I've been told by those who felt they were annointed. My maternal grandfather was one of those people.

in the congregation that i grew up in there were about 30 children under 16 (myself included).

as time went on they one by one slipped away from the meetings and most never got baptized.

of those 30 children only myself and two other girls stayed and got baptized.

This religion will cease to exist in my immediate family, once my Dad passes away. Not only did their kids (me and my brothers) not get baptized, neither did any of the grandkids. Yessssss!

Health Problems: my Father can't even stay awake long enough to eat his meals let alone listen to Botchtower's clap trap. I control his money now. Botchtower has received nothing since that happened. And they will never receive any more. They were into him for 10's of thousands of dollars. NO MORE!

Science my son and I.

a recent o.p origins of the universe bought home to me with ovbious clarity that i have no scientific background.

this realization was rather embarrassing for myself to admit, particularly as my child of 11 has began asking some rather intersting questions on scientific matters.

anyway i have subscribed to " scientific america" because i find it a great magazine for those with no scientific background.

YouTube also has a lot of good Science videos. The original "Cosmos" with Carl Sagan can be found there. Also check out James Burke's "Connections" series.

Edited to add: Even as an adult I also enjoyed the children's Science shows "Beakman's World" and "Bill Nye the Science Guy".

If I recall correctly, Farkel told us once he had COPD. That is not a pleasant condition to live with. It is chronic and progressive. I know because my Mom had it and died from it.
