either there is no trinity
or the bible contradicts itself...
those are the only two answers. That bible jim guy was really reaching for straws, and the JWs were dull.
personally i hate bible ping-pong.
i don't think it ever gets anywhere, i don't think it solves anything and i don't think the participants ever make any head room.
however i will say in this case, i have been proven wrong.
how sad that the witnesses have nothing to celebrate.
the more i think about it since i stopped going to the meetings, the more i feel that spirituality and religion are about opportunities to give thanks and to celebrate life with family and friends.
christenings or name giving ceremonies celebrate the gift of a new life to a family.
recently it's come to my attention that the other teens in my congragation are being pressured by their parents to pioneer.
the main problem is that, like me, they're all "apostates".
because of this amusing turn of events, i'm thinking about starting my own apostate pioneering group with them.
the first poll of britain's churchgoers, carried out for the sunday telegraph, found that thousands of them believe they are being turned down for promotion because of their faith.. one in five said that they had faced opposition at work because of their beliefs.. more than half of them revealed that they had suffered some form of persecution for being a christian.. the findings suggest a growing hostility towards religion in this country, which has been highlighted by a series of clashes between churchgoers and their employers.. and so on.

silver lining: there are still christians in gb!.
(apologies if this has been posted already...couldn't find it had).

darek barefoot, author of the book "jehovah's witnesses and the hour of darkness" will be one of our quests on the six screens conference call on saturday june 6,2009 at 7 p.m.est.
darek barefoot, a former jehovah's witness was ostracized from the organization for trying to expose the truth about the occultic influence in the watchtower organization.
his book documents the existence of disguised, or "subliminal"images in watchtower illustrations, and further demonstrated that these images were occultic, being drawn from witchcraft and demonology.
this is according to the pay attention to the flock book.
i can't remember the page.
i handled this situation a number of times but i may have missed a detail, these are the basics i am pretty sure.
the experience that follows contains some details that some might find graphic.
so be warned.. the body of elders received word that an unmarried ministerial servant, age 20, had been seen fondling a younger male bible student, age 14. the ministerial servant himself had been studying with the boy.
the ministerial servant was a quiet, timid brother.
-- Yes, assuming it's actually required by law for them to do so, in that particular state. That doesn't bother you in the least?
should they not do what is required of them by law? Otherwise, if you don't like the laws, you should probably write a senator. They are just following the rules....now... anyway.
narkissos, in challenge #2 you wrote:.
"i wouldn't push the distinction between allos and heteros too far;.
often the difference is stylistic rather than semantic.".
ok it's no secret my mother is seriously ill. the neighbors and friends who have grown to love her are constantly asking for updates.
at the end of virtually every conversation is stated, i'll pray for her or some other mention of divine request.. in the other corner are the multitide of jw's i've known and helped over the years.
no mention of prayers.. i know it's obvious but the love from heritics clearly out paces "the friends".. i'm just annoyed that's all.. .
