Maybe his sons said to him: Dad, I think every witness should partake like we do... and then Anthony mentioned that to the GB (and for once he would have been right) and was kicked out because or that...

"I didn’t find clear committees for the following GB members:
Grant Suiter, Nathan Knorr, Lyman Swingle, Milton Henschel, John Groh, George Gangas, Leo Greenlees, Ewart Chitty, John Groh"
Suiter - publishing, personnel
Knorr - teaching
Swingle - writing (coordinator, was replaced by Barry after the Ray Franz incident)
Henschel - publishing
John Groh died before the committee system began in 1976
Gangas - personnel
Greenless - teaching
Chitty - writing

Someone mentioned here earlier that Thomas Sullivan resigned from the GB because of health issues one year before he died. But it seems he did not resign from the Governing Body. Instead he left his position in the Board of Directors of the Society in 1973. He was a member of the Board of Directors for 41 years (1932-73) but also a member of the GB for 4 years (1971-74). His memberships overlapped!

I don't know if this has been mentioned here but Morris spoke in the GB Update number 8 which was released on 22 Dec 2022. That was just 2 months ago. So things have escalated rather fast...

From Crisis of Conscience, 4th edition:
Page 163: By now, Ewart Chitty was no longer a member of the Body, having submitted his resignation in accord with the Governing Body’s wishes.
Page 323: The only explanation I can think of is that, about a year before the inquisition tactics began, an organizational member in a position of considerable responsibility had been accused of homosexual tendencies.

Ewart Chitty had "homosexual tendencies" and he was forced to resign. Ray Franz writes about him briefly in his first book. He continued as a Bethelite until he died.

Smiddy3, that video is a secretly recorded judicial committee meeting and yeah, it's pretty annoying to listen to.
But at 1:21:47 there is an interesting detail. One the elders in the "committee" had served in the headquarters (must be quite recently because he clearly isn't that old) and he told how he knew all the GB members and had talked with them about many things.
He had also asked them about the "new light" and how that process works. According to him this is what happens if some GB member suggests that some biblical understanding should be changed:
"Even if one member votes against it, they don't make the announcement, they table it, they wait. Sometimes a new understanding will be on the table for months or years until the entire GB sees and agrees as a body that this is obvious at this point, this is what Jehovah is directing."
So if this is true, we can forget about the old 2/3 majority Ray Franz talks about in his book. Apparently that system has been rejected at some point and now just 1 member can block a change if he doesn't agree with it..

I believe they have ditched the 2/3 rule a long time ago and nowadays the decisions have to be unanimous. I don't remember which video it was but some elder who had been at Bethel had talked with a GB member and got the impression that all the members have to agree. I will try if I can find that video.
This info about 2/3 majority is based of Ray Franz's book. He left in 1980 and many things have changed since then.
