We would still not know why Chitty resigned in 1979 if Ray Franz who was kicked out in 1980 would have not told about it in his book in 1983.
In other words: we might never know more about Tony - unless another GB member is kicked out and decides to tell us what happened.

Historian and former JW Jim Penton dies
by slimboyfat ini don’t know a lot about james penton but i think he deserves a better thread than the one currently on offer.
james penton, who died recently, grew up in a jw family in canada and served as an elder.
unusually for a jw, he studied liberal arts at university and became a history professor.

For the last few years Penton participated in the online Bible study group with Eric Wilson. There are also some videos by him on Wilson's channel (Beroean Pickets).
This is an interesting interview from the early 80s. This was done 2 months after Ray Franz was kicked out from the org. Too bad Ray himself wasn't interviewed here as well - but his landlord, former elder Peter Gregerson was.

There are at least 2 GB helpers who are "anointed", I bet they will appoint them soon. Not Gilles though, he is too old and apparently he did not partake this year. -

New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

Forget 1914, the 1975 generation are now passing away!
by nowwhat? inwe still have quite a few elderly here that came in as young families in the late 1960's-early 70's because soon, yes very soon they would enter the new system and never grow old.
it's now one year away from 50 years since 1975. just in the last couple years i've seen them come down with alzheimer's, cancer, brain tumors, becoming invalid etc.
the children of them that are now around 60 are just so distraught at seeing their parents deteriorate.
