the fireworks will be exploding saturday night, july 4th at 7p.m.est.
our special guest, former jehovah's witness bethelite and elder ernest zenone s.r.
left the watchtower and became a deacon in christendom.

this point has been made before but i think the very words the wt write which contradict the bible the quote make the point powerfully.. have a read for yourself http://www.watchtower.org/e/jt/index.htm.
jesus told his disciples: "you will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me both in jerusalem and in all judea and samaria and to the most distant part of the earth.
"acts 1:8.. hence, some 6,000,000 persons today who are telling the good news of jehovah's kingdom by christ jesus in over 230 lands feel that they properly refer to themselves as jehovah's witnesses.. .
Spike,
"1 Cor.13:8 mentions that some of the gifts would cease or be done away with, which does seem too bad for a least a few of us. Like, Oomps, I've got a back that gives me trouble too, but at least now we have the technology to have foam mattresses now and reclining chairs, which do help ease the pain/ discomfort. We have ended up with a trade-off, IMO."
1 Cor. 13:8
Love never fails. But whether there are [gifts of] prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with
So when exactly did the bible say these gifts would cease? What was the date on that? When did knowlege cease?

i hope he doesn't mind me cutting and pasting it as i want to examine it.. was jesus our god?
consider these two scriptures:.
"how are they a false prophet? they have only done what every other christian faith is also guilty of from thessalonians onwards and that is eagerness over armageddon, unless you are calling armageddon itself a false prophecy?"
Here we go again.
As I already stated. They are known the world over as a false prophet regardless of your denial or personal definition of the term. A reproach to God nonetheless.
And if as you say " they have only done what every other christian faith is also guilty of" what makes them any different or better than any other body of Christians.
Oh wait, I know.... They use God's name.....blah blah....trinity.....blah blah....already refuted hundreds of times over by more people on here than I can count......blah blah......

You're right Reniaa,
The JW's use of God's name avery 3rd word absolves the org of every bit of reproach they've brought onto God's name.
But you still haven't addressed the point I was making "the JW org is known the world over as a false prophet and a joke not only in the Christian community but also secularly"
Thus they are a reproach on God regardless of your personal definition of a false prophet or what constitutes a false prophet.
"David probably sang God's name while he danced and sang through the streets much to the disgust of Sauls daughter"
Scripture showing this please.....
Saul's daughter was belittling David for dancing and worshipping God with noticeable emotion and because he was receiving attention. I see nothing in this passage to indicate the disgust Saul's daughter showed had anything to do with God's name.
25 "O (A) righteous Father, although (B) the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that (C) You sent Me;
26 and (D) I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that (E) the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."
"Jeaus made God's name known to them"
notice the context "the world has not known You, yet I have known You" and "I have made Your name known to them"
Was he going around telling people his Father's name (as if that could change anyone) or was he making His Father known by emulating His qualities and showing the Father's love and giving Him a good name?

I've said that before too...this is like deja vu. As it turns out I eventually realized that what I was saying lined up perfectly with what the Watchtower taught, not the scriptures.

Spike,
No offense but I was a JW for 32 years and I've used the same canned response you're using on a number of occasions. Can you come up with something original that you came up with? Everything you've said on this forum I've said before. Another name attributed to Jesus is Emmanuel, which means "God with us". Who's with us? Being a witness of Jesus in itself makes one a witness of the Father as it was the Father who instituted this arrangement. If this arrangement detracted from the Father, He would not have allowed it.

No meanness intended. It is a "factual" thought nonetheless. I really don't see that it can be refuted.

Reniaa,
Just a thought. You say you have children, right? How often do your children call you by name? What's more endearing, for them to refer to you as mom or mommy or by your name? Wouldn't it signify some sort of disrespect for you if they insisted on always referring to you by name? Are we not God's children when we become Christian? I seem to remember Jesus telling us to refer to God as our Father....
Notice: Matt: 6:9 Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name
Sounds to me like that would mean set apart, not for common use
You place so much attention on the fact that you use God's name (or a variation of it at least). You think JW's are the only ones who know or use it. But contrary to what you've been told to believe that's simply not true. The issue here is the fact that JW's use the name with such irreverent frequency that they've reduced it to a common household name or word or magic charm. Do a little bit of research and you'll see the JW org is known the world over as a false prophet and a joke not only in the Christian community but also secularly. No one outside of JW'ism really even include JW's in the Christian category. Christians are witnesses of Jesus. Seems to me like the JW's use of God's name has been more of a reproach on God than anything. Just a thought.

"The point is on the table and proved that biblically the word god or divine or godlike"
Sorry Ren, circular argument, Jesus' qualities go way beyond godlike. Actually the burden of proof is on you and the rest of the cults. The JW's, the Mormons, the COG and all the others who diminish Jesus power and position.
