does it bother any jw apologists or lurking jws that charles russell, joseph rutherford, and the watchtower board members who backed them would all be disfellowshipped today for teaching what those men taught as truth?.
does it bother any of you that you would be disfellowshipped today for believing what their followers would have been disfellowshipped for not believing?.
Logic doesn't work on appologists. They're entire mental outlook is distorted to accept "TRUTH™ today, gone tomorrow".

the atheists and bible deniers love to talk about how hateful and murderous god is.
i suggest the following.
i believe that the children that were killed in warfare by the israelites were taken to heaven with god.
In God we trust.
Just as long as you don't trust him around your kids. One false move and he'll dash them to peices against the rocks.

We can confirm we don't know everything so it would be better not to judge God's actions but rather be concerned with our own.
I don't need to know everything in the universe to judge the actions of a fictional character.

It was written in such a way that, while certain things can be proved without the shadow of a doubt, other things must be taken on faith.
In which case, God has more-less created a filter that would prevent nearly anyone that values logic, values observation and verification, and doesn't just 'believe everything they read in a book someplace' from knowing him.
Seems like a strange thing for god to specifically filter-out. And at the same time - it is exactly the the sort of thing that the religious powers need to filter out.

How many dimensions are there for sure? Tell me what exists and what doesn't. Unless you know everything how can you judge? Only by what God has revealed to you. Has he revealed everything?
What is with all the appeals to ignorance lately? "Maybe their is another dimension that is filled with PIE! You don't know everything, you can't prove it's not so!!" It's a stupid argument - you can suggest ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING with equal validity as the concept of god. God is on-par with my 'dimension of pie' concept.
Of course, suggesting there is 'pie out there that we can't detect' gains us absolutely, positively nothing. Just like suggesting there is a sky daddy out there who does magic things that we can't see. The concept alone is just a random idea - and that by itself gains us nothing.
Unless and until we can confirm a concept - that concept is of extremely limited value.
People write books on all sorts of unproven concepts - some turn out to be true, but many false. Personally, I don't employ the 'twiddle my thumbs until god (an unproven concept) decides to reveal things to me' method to determine what is supported by evidence to be real - and therefore have real value - and what isn't.
The bible is a book obviously written by men, about men... and occationally a man-like god. When god demands blood-baths, clearly his thinking - his way of solving problems, cannot be distinquished from man's thinking. Compared to our modern view of the value of life, clearly god's way of solving problems is inferior.
Imagine the US commanding it's soldiers to 'dash the little ones against the ground', to kill women and children... to 'rip open pregnant women', etc. The whole world would be outraged, and rightfully so.

Do we really understand justice from God's view unless we are God
There's some good ol' circular reasoning for you.
"God is always good" -> "If God does something bad, we must not understand his view." -> "Therefore, everything God does is always good."
Just LOOK at what he commands, and think for yourself:
"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity!Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)
"This is what the Lord has to say: 'I will punish what Amalek did to Israel when he barred his way as he was coming up from Egypt. Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban. Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.'" (1 Samuel 15:2-3 NAB)
God is NOT good. He is bloodthirsty warlord!! It is painfully obvious. It doesn't matter what his viewpoint is, anymore than it matters what the "view" of any other phycopathic murderer is.

human misery: the default setting in the universe.. .
we think "everything is okay" is the norm and it isn't.
not by a long shot.. .
There are many people who have had deeply "spiritual" experiences, so while you are waiting for a tool to be invented to detect "other dimensional" phenomena, remember that all of mankind is still evolving.
Evolution requires selective pressure - it isn't a random thing. You don't go from one generation with 'no eyes' to 'with eyes' without millions of smaller steps. All of the 5 senses have dedicated, specialized nerve endings and structure to do what they do. Have you identified a set of nerve endings to justify this '6th sense'? What competitive advantage does the sense offer so that humans with this '6th sense' are more successful in competition and reproduction? (Many of the people I see on TV talking about their 'spiritual' or 'alien abduction' experiences distance themselves from regular society, which would become a hinderance to finding a mate and reproducing.)
Evolution is imperceptible for thousands of years much less in one lifetime, but even now there are those that are multisensory (for lack of a better word).
Isolate them, and see if their 'special senses' verify eachother's story. If one detects 'A' in place 'A'.. then another should detect the exact same thing in that same place, no?
There is a lot of talk, a lot of claims - but when it comes down to it nobody yet has been able to demonstrate such powers. The US Military spent what, 20 Million Dollars on research into remote viewing and other forms 'ESP' - and it all turned out to be crap.
Their are well know medical disorders that can cause false perceptions, hallucinations, and dilusions - not to mention drugs. These seem far more likely than the sudden development of a new sensory organ for which there isn't any evidence of reproductive advantage.
You CANNOT tell these people that they themselves are not the tool; and you cannot tell them that their experiences are fantastical or not real.
Oh, trust me, I can tell when someone is a tool. (Not saying you are.. it was just too fun to pass up.)
But if they can't verify one another - then how is it different from 2 people speaking nonsense? In every examined case thus far, there is no significant support for these people's claims of 'supernatural powers'. When given a test they can't cheat at - they fail.
They KNOW better. To categorize every person that is multisensory as living in a fantasy world, or worse, as mentally unstable is ridiculous.
Why? There are hundreds of disorders and conditions that are extremely common among humans:

well i thought there was one thing i could count on with my ex jw wife and that was she would not go back on her word.
to make a long story short, after we were separated and i signed off on the marriage, my ex gave me her word that she would not go after my pension.
well a few years later guess what?
When I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I had the unfortunate opportunity to room with my ex's sister/brother in law.
It started with MY solo visit to an appartment manager - also a Jehovah's Witness. She ran a credit check on me, and approved me (alone) to rent an appartment. There were rumors that the ex's bro/sis might room with me, but NONE of that was put in the contract. They were NOT present for the credit check, or to make the down-payment, and the contract was soley between ME and the landlord.
2 weeks after living there, guess who show up? Apparently, because their were rumors in the hall that I might take them as roommates to ease the costs, that was enough for the idiot woman landlord sister to give the two of them the key to my apartment. (Who could have just as easily stolen everything I owned.) Even my ex-wife (then girlfriend) was kinda pissed that they never really confirmed it with me - and I was NOT present to agree to this with the landlord.
They literally were just 'there one day' with all their shit. The girlfriend was as pissed as I was when she found out her sister and bro-in-law 'invited themselves' to live with me - she had no idea that was finalized either.
Whatever. So we lived together for 6 months. I lived basically in my room and was extremely tidy. I am to this day. I keep a clean house. The other pair did NOT. One day I was working in my room and the bro-in-law came in to 'hang out'.
"Don't you work in the mornings?" I asked.
"I don't really feel good today. I think I'm going to go for a walk."
"Oh. Well, I have some work to do this morning." (I worked from home.)
A few seconds later the guy received a phone call - his boss, wondering where the hell he was. He was fired for not showing up, and not calling in for the 5th time. That was his 8'th job he'd been fired at.. by the age of 27. He was always 'sick' or 'too injured to work'.
So anyway, Ex and I move out-of-state, so I close my contract with the JW land-lord. She writes a check for the security deposit - WHICH I PAID - to the deadbeat couple, who then tell me they won't give me the money unless I clean out the appartment when we leave (because they are pioneers and don't have time). I approach the Landlord - who damn well knew she wrote the check to the wrong people - who just tells me I shouldn't make a dispute with a brother, and if I want to make a fuss, she'll tell the elders (I wasn't a native there).
So I had to rent a steam cleaner and clean up after a bunch of dead-beat, worthless, uneducated morons who couldn't hold a job at SAFEWAY. Naturally their bedroom and the deck off of it was chuck-full of boxes of junk and wal-mart crap that they didn't take care of, so I had to find some way of disposing of it.
So no. I don't trust Jehovah's Witnesses with money, or damn near anything. Jehovah's Witnesses are cheats, deadbeats, manipulators, and liars.

PS: I've made every effort to ensure this is factually correct, as well as to associate this post with the keywords "Jehovah's Witnesses" for Google's sake.
any thoughts?
it is the exact same story as jesus only 3000 years earlier.
can it be truthfully and scientifically said that never will man ever be able to at least appear to walk on water?
Appear - absolutely.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBQLq2VmZcA
(See that video? If a picture is worth a thousand words... then 2 minutes 34 seconds of video times 29.97 frames per second... that's 4,615,380 times more proof than the bible's "words of goat hearders on payperus in a dead language" provide. Fucking period.)
Actually do - no.
Some believe that life exists on other planets is it an absolute that that life would be just the same as ours with our limited physical ability even relative to other animals on earth?
Of course, at this point, we only have a sample size of 1. So it's impossible to say accurately one way or another. Organic molecules (carbon molecules) can demonstratably form complex shapes and structures without guidance or intervention. So is it merely a matter of time? There is a damn lot of time and space out there (several orders of magnitude... multiples of 10... more than the ancient ignorants of the bible claim their to be) Perhaps the next generation will say for sure.
If a book had been written about an visitor from space who had the ability to suspend the natural laws or could heal or could perform feats no human could,
some would find it easier to believe than the Jesus story.
People think all sorts of unlikely things. We have never confirmed or witnessed such a visit. Such a visit would suggest faster-than-light technologies that with our present understanding appear mathmatically unlikely if not entirely impossible. The amount of energy required to exceed the speed of light exceeds the amount of energy ANY natural element/force is capable of containing. So say 99.9% likelyhood of impossible.
Yet, according to the Gospel of John that was what Jesus was, someone outside of this world, this planet.
You left out 'outside of the entire observable universe'.
"In the beginning the Word was and the Word was with God and the Word was God...."
So says a book written by people in the bronze age, who didn't know diddly dick. (And 300 years from now, we ourselves will turn out to be intellecual primitives in the infancy of understanding - and yet no known field of science or observation supports the 'magic man in the sky did it' idea.)
It's the religion that gets in the way more than the physical science of it all, imo. The phrase "visitor from another planet" is much more palatable for many than "spirit person" because we find it hard to imagine what we don't understand. Only natural.
Absolutely not! Visitors from outside our solar system are equally as unproven and without evidence as 'visitors from the magic fairy spirit realm'.
