  Crazy Captcha

  i don't know where to post this but i had to go through about 50 captchas before i could get one right.. can it be set for degree of difficulty?

  i even had one with hebrew characters..

  A captcha is a test to prevent automated bots from posting on forums or joining various websites. They typically have a garbled word that a human can make out but computer algorithms have difficulty recognizing.

  Whenever you see a box with "enter the letters above", and the letters are some crazy characters in random fonts and colors with lines through them, etc... it's a captcha.

  Unfortunately, it's a sort of 'cat and mouse' game - spammers are anxious to break the captchas, and are getting better at it... so the puzzles have to get harder and harder over time...

  this forum would probably not be a good measuring stick for answering that question.

  god is supposed to put it into the heart of the beast (u.n.) to hate the harlot (religion) and destroy her.

  do you see this happening or is this another "we're seeing more earthquakes" thing?.

  I may be wrong here, but I could have sworn that in one of the last district convensions I attended there was some 'new light' announced from the platform that the "Fall of Babalyon the Great has begun!" after some minor world event.

  I could be wrong though, or they may have revised that by now with some "newer", "fresher" light.

  my mom says dont say happy easter cause she is not a part of babylon the great...i said 'happy easter' to my brother as a joke and my brother goes back and tells my mom like were little kids (i'm 29 and he's 27 with a new baby by the way) and my mom writes me a lengthy email about how i shouldnt joke about babylon the great.

  i am 29 years old, 29. and i can't joke around.

  i know all j-dubs arent like this, but a lot of them are just like my mom.

  if you've been to the meeting when the letter was read, what was jw reaction????

  just curious if it was just another sign that the end is nearer or did any wake up for a second to realize the corporation is downsizing due to costs..

  a few days ago i ate a corn nut that was kind of sharp.

  it made a very tiny scratch on my tongue the size of a period (.).

  i have a bleeding disorder so it bled for 3 hours.

  Cyber-Bullies

  as a kid i got bullied a lot.

  i was taller than all the kids in the class.

  i wore funny clothes - usually hand-me-downs from somewhere or just plain ugly.

  Heh.. I've been on forums where bullying really was an issue - where there was outright hate/intollerance between large percentages of the participants (heh, go to any game or anime forum where "furries" are present and watch the insults, intollerance, and unwarrented accusations fly!)

  This forum is pretty gosh-darn tame in my opinion. It would seem to me that "bullying" is the exception, not the norm here.

  Having run forums myself, there are moderators that are "mods in title" and then there are moderators that engage with the community and lead the way setting the standards for the forum. I can't help but feel that too few people are engaged in this second type of moderation here, and I think the cracks are beginning to show from it.

  I lived in an area in the past where blizzards are still common around Memorial time. If heavy snow is expected, a few of the remote bookstudies ensure they have bread/wine on hand, and in years past they had to split the congregation up into smaller bookstudy groups to reduce travel distances.
