it is claimed that on jan. 10 the journal of cosmology published a paper by 4 scientists stating that hard evidence of fossilized single cell life was found in a sri lanka meterorite.. .

i've got some reading to do.. i just stumbled on to this and it appears to be real..... metatron.

the oh-my-god particle was an ultra-high-energy cosmic ray (most likely a proton) detected on the evening of 15 october 1991 over dugway proving ground, utah.

its observation was a shock to astrophysicists, who estimated its energy to be approximately 31020 ev (50 j)[1]in other words, a subatomic particle with kinetic energy equal to that of a 5-ounce (142 g) baseball traveling at about 100 kilometers per hour (60 mph).. the particle was traveling very close to the speed of light - assuming the particle was a proton, its speed was only about 1.5 femtometers (quadrillionths of a meter) per second less than the speed of light, translating to a speed of approximately 0.9999999999999999999999951c.

mom gave a lot of money to the watchtower bible and tract society over her lifetime- (6 figures).

after she ran low on funds she made a 5 figure "conditional loan" to wtb&ts.

Ugh, re-read the whole thread - what a sad outcome. Unfortunately, the WT has probably figured out the exact amount they can steal before it becomes 'worth it' for the victim to seek legal action.

PS: Reminds me of my father's passing. I was called one night and told my father was in the hospital and it was serious. I was the first family member to arrive - but even by then, a copy of "Cheritable Planning" had already been left in his room for him to consider... WT Reps on-site had visited him and encouraged him to send life insurance funds to the WT instead of my soon-to-be widdowed monther before the family even arrived. (I created a thread here about it at the time.) Fortunately, my father decided that he had purchased life insurance to take care of my mom, not the WT - and that she could decide how to spend her money for herself.

I was just tooling through Wal-Mart, and they have them on sale early. Just picked up a copy.

Awww....

Sadly, whenever I read the title "A Memory of Light"... I can't help but think it refers a bit to Jordan himself. It is easy to be critical - but to create such a work in one's lifetime is something I would be more than proud of. Flaws and all, to mastermind such a long story arc over so many years and manage so many characters - it is more than just words on a page - it is a wonder, I think.

I love Sanderson. His new series "way of kings" is wonderful.

Been reading the Way of Kings myself actually. I enjoy his concepts and some of his characters, but I'm a quarter of the way in and hoping it'll pick up soon.
