I've seen the Calculus in 20 minutes video before, and it made sense... but I think I'll have to watch a few more times before I can really get it all. Damn differential equations and my parent's dislike for me "thinkin' you're so smart."

i am going to buy a tv today to watch movies on and play playstation.
i have a choice between a 73 inch mitsb.1080 hdtv or a 52 inch sony lcd/hdtv?
the lcd seems brighter and more clear, but it is smaller.
My parents have a large DLP, and every year they have to replace the bulb, which costs hundreds of dollars and requires a tech to come do it on theirs. They are not entirely happy with it.
I have a Samsung LCD, and other than it being a bit small now that I have a larger tv area (only 32"), I'm happy with it.

on our trip back home from the thanksgiving holiday spent at our home town my wife labeled me an intellect.
normally, i would've been flattered with the title but when she called me that she was referencing the bible verse matthew 11:25. this offended me to say the least.. she said that it was hard for people like me to have faith in something because i will always investigate it and make sure of it.
for example, if someone told me that the grass was green, she said i would not believe them and research grass and the color green to ensure that it really was.. i told her that this was absurd and that i see no reason to research whether or not the grass was green when i can see with my own eyes what color it is.
It's not about faith. It's about entertainment. It's about being fooled. Sometimes the world is not as we want it. Some close their eyes to the facts and turn to faith. To ignore what is. What we as humans have done. What our responsibility is.
Others want to do something about it. We want to do something to make the world a better place.
Do not worry about what your wife said, she does not have the courage to see. She wants to be fooled. Worry about the real work that needs to be done. Sometimes the masses have to be entertained into the right state of mind. Consider how you can entertain and comfort your wife with what is being done about the troublesome things that face humanity.

does anyone remember the jw video "the organisation behind the name"?
i remember in there they showed illistrations being set up, photos being taken of it so that artists could paint the illistrations.
somthing that puzzled me was a clip of one of the actors in the illistrations having cotton wool stuck on to his face as a pretend beard... this is a guy... why didn't they just tell him not to shave for a while?.
