Preparing for worldwide release of Shepherding.....
by yknot intime to do some 'groundwork'..... what i am interested in is if you know of anymore ex/pro/or other jw-related sites where a shepherding link and discussion might be beneficial!
foreign language sites are good too because many are bilingual.. i know jws, jwr, link to jwn on topix, beliefnet, extj, jwfind.......... thank you in advance for your help!.

over such years i have received many questions and comments, and engaged in various debates regarding the validity of that name.

Discernment of spirits is not simply hearing spirits it is the spiritual ability to judge and differentiate (discern) between the Holy Spirit and unclean/deceiving spirits, even when such claim to be the voice of Jesus, Michael, Jaheshua, Jehovah, or whatever. This is one reason encouragement was given to test the spirits to see if they are from god because many false spirits speaking through false prophets have gone out into the world.
Spiritual gifts are real but they are not for boasting or for self-promotion in some misguided, fleshly attempt to prove oneself to others. Jesus repeatedly refused to engage in such spectacle when the enemy and others tried to get him to prove himself.

I bet more than a couple of the folks on this board, given enough time, could produce a translation at least as competent as the NWT.
On another forum I was on there was an individual that produced his own translation although from my perspective it was inferior to the NWT. Though, from what I understood, he did submit it to the Society hoping for publication.

Despite my concerns with the accuracy of Matthew 28:19 I do believe that there is a singular NAME shared by Father, Son, and Spirit. It is totally out of bounds to insert others into the equation such as when the Watchtower baptizes into the "spirit-directed organization."

There is some evidence that the instruction to go "baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit" may not have been original and was a later addition to the text.

I will say that in most cases the Witnesses are more adept at using the Bible to support their teachings than the typical householder they run into.

The JW leadership teaches salvation by association. A JW has no individual justification before Heaven through Jesus Christ. They are said to have "relative rightousness" accorded to them by their association with "Christ's Brothers", identified as the Faithful & Discreet Slave Class, or more specifically the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. In their view the Watchtower Organization is analogous to a City of Refuge, an Inner Chamber, or the Ark where one must be found in order to be saved by God. There is a works aspect to this in that a JW must actively support "Christ's Brothers" by preaching door-to-door and they must be in regular association at the Kingdom Hall.
