Is this the start of a change of policy regarding individual JWs preparing internet pages.
by joe134cd inthis is a quote of a quote taken from anthoney mathenia:.
" for organizations like the watchtower, absolute control of their message is paramount.
it will not even allow its own adherents to spread their good news online.

I'm the writer of that article.
I'm wondering about this too. This kind of goes hand and hand with the odd International Convention websites that popped up in various cities, like Atlanta, New Orleans, and Detroit over the summer.

Has this been used before? Or is this a new thought?
Either way it is cruel to guilt a parent for naturally morning the loss of disfellowshipped child. They really want to stamp out any natural affection. That is sick! -

This image really brought back some bad memories of being a child and exposed to fearmongering about the great tribuation. I can remember being afraid that one day the GT would break out and I could be seperated from my family and placed in a concentration where I could be killed for standing up for my faith. I know my parents were trying to prepare me for what they themselves feared, but that is some horrific mental abuse for a child. Now I see the picture in mind placed in a magazine that will be viewed and studied by children. This is the stuff of nightmares and it makes me sick.
A few thoughts from myself and other places on the Web:
Having the creepy girl look away from the group breaks the fourth wall, to place the viewer subconsciously in the basement. As you look through the literature you'll see this technique used often.
Bibles are closed as the elder reads a letter that is positioned to show that is from headquarters. This enforces the idea that the only way out of this frightening scenario is by looking to the Governing Body for salvation.
There are disaster preperations stockpiled in the basement. After Hurrican Katrina Watchtower headquarters told the JW's to start keeping some diaster supplies on hand. I scoffed at some that were taking what appeared to be sound life advice and turning into proof of the nearness of the end. Now I wonder if that was the intent all along by the GB. -

E-Watchman? Thoughts?
by thedepressedsoul ini stumbled upon the website e-watchman today and while i didn't have time to read over everything i found this thoughts so far quite interesting.
recently when reading matthew i can't help but feel that jesus warnings about the pharisees also applied to the gb and elders.
actually everytime jesus brought them up i realized how similar they are.

@rjharris your comments are insightful.
To further elaborate on King's spiritual-schitzophrenia:
He claims to be anointed and attends the JW memorial. However, King does not partake. To do so would be disobedient to the Watchtower organization, since he is disfellowshipped.
So on the one hand he feels that the Watctower has sunk into apostasy, but on the other hand he feels the need to be obedient to them since the religion was still appointed by God. -

Al was formerly a disciple of Robert King (e-watchman). Al started a companion site called "Jehovah's Judgment"where he wrote his own essays along King's prophetic framework. The jehovahsjudgment.comdomain was registered and setup by King's webmaster Timothy Kline, who also ran the Pathways forum. As a personal comment, Al's articles were much better written then King's own.
My first interactions with 3W were on King's old "Paradise Cafe" forums. At the time 3W hadn't developed the rabid pro-Watchtower persona he has since put on. We had some discussions about Revelation and he even conceded that the locusts from the pit were not the anointed and the abbadon was not Jesus as the Watchtower was teaching. At least online he was a seperate entity from Al.
I don't know what sparked it but Al had some misgivings about King's teaching and had a falling away from King that resulted in Kline seizing control of "Jehovah's Judgment" and shutting it down. (jehovahsjudgment.com now links to a static webpage with an ad for Kline's web company at the bottom.) Al was upset because he felt that Kline had setup the website as a favor for him and not that it was setup as an extension of the e-watchman network. Al switched over to a Watchtower apologist and began disavowing King's teaching. He registered jehovahs-judgment.co.uk and setup his own forum there.
At this time there were others on Pathways and e-Watchman that became disgruntled with King/Kine for whatever reason. Some were returning to a pro-Watchtower stance and they began posting on Al's new forum. (I was surprised today to see the forum still in operation and some of the original posters still active.) Al's site became a kind of base of operations for an anti-e-watchman movement that spilled out onto various forums (such as H20) and blogs.
Around this time 3W had begun to write up essays refuting Watchman's positions that the Watchtower was guilty of mishandling child abuse and had sullied themselves with involvement with the UN. The folks at Al's site saw him as a compatriot in their personal vendeta against King and offered to host his articles on their site.
As an end-note, despite their pretty staunch pro-Watchtower presence, many of these individuals deep down have personal difficulties with the Organization. One individual hadn't been to meetings in 10 years; another lost a child due to blood complications, was DF'd, and wasn't going to the meetings. So I guess that is the sad thing. What may be seen as strong Witnesses supporting their organization is really individuals that are grasping at whatever they can to make it right with "Jehovah" in the wake of their own failings to really make it in the Organization.

The author is Thirdwitness, a JW apologist who first made an appearance on Robert King's E-Watchmen forums. Thirdwitness originally sided with King's viewpoint that JW's were Jah's chosen people that had fallen into error, later to be restored.
Al Taylor, another disciple of King, set up a companion website called Jehovah's Judgement, with essays further elaborating on King's take that JW's were to be judged and refined. Taylor, however lost faith in King and reverted back to the accepted JW dogma of the day. He set up a website designed to counter King's teachings.
Thirdwitness reverted to a JW apologist and got involved with Taylor. Like Taylor, Thirdwitness primarily focused on countering Robert King. (Also in the crosshairs was Timothy Kline, King's webmaster and forum moderator.) Thirdwitness wrote essays defending the JW's against King's hot topics, Watchtower UN involvement, the 1914 error, and child abuse issues.
At times it has been speculated that Thirdwitness is actually a psuedonym for Al Taylor. Both are reasonably accomplished writers and share a hatred for Robert King.
