Is there anyone on the GB who has more than a high school certificate?
by Lady Lee insome time this week i will be interviewed by a couple of university students doing a project on jehovahs' witnesses.
the one i spoke to knows very little about them.. it will be an interview on my personal experience as a jw but from her initial phone call we saw that my answers easily led to more questions.
she doesn't realize she is talking about a cult but began to get the idea that the wts has a lot of control over the lives of jws.. so the education thing came up and i explained how education beyond high school was not encouraged and even though they give lip service to it post-secondary education is still not highly recommended.. which got me to thinking.

Farkel, wasn't a person who was going to try out for a Rhodes Scholarship required to have a college degree/Diploma? If Franz didn't complete college he wouldn't have been able to complete the application. He, Franz, should have tried to educate himself on fiction writing, maybe he could have sold a few books that way and made some money for himself instead of writing Fiction for Rutherford and not getting any $$$ out of the deal.

It seems that some scholars have said that Mark was the first book of the N. T. written, and WTBTS says it is Matthew, does anyone really know. I would like to be able to determine which and when if at all possible, but don't have the time to research it for awhile. Any and all help will be much appreciated. Tks in advance.

I think it is an insult to those who were awarded it in the past, I guess the committe likes to insult the American people i.e. Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, and now the marxist lenist pig we call a president the kenyan Obama.
He Obama has been an insult to the american people since his election, a do nothing, who only hangs around with corrupt individuals and like them is corrupt to the core.
People on here who try to play the race card are typical of the Watchtowerites they left behind, attack peoples motives attack the person but don't never ever debate the real issue what the hell has he done other than apologize to the world for being an american and of course kiss the ass of the countries aligned against us.
Because my opinion differs from his doesn't make me a racist. With that kind of thinking, you must be a least a bigot which is just another fom of racism, isn't that what a racist is you don't like or hate a person or for their attitudejust skin color different viewpoint.

Didn't get a chance to finish the above, had a minor emergency had to immediately take care of. Yea there are 7-10 in the cong where I am stuck at that on on the antidepressants. Seems that the aches and pains are highlights of discussions. It is depressing just to be around them, and listen to the tripe coming from the platform.
How many others are out there suffering from a myriad of ills such as depression, anxiety etc.?

Scripture that says something like in heaven you are neither male or female?
by Bambie init's been many years since i thought about this, but recently a friend and i were talking and i briefly mentioned that in the bible it says that in heaven (or at least, those resurrected to heaven) are neither male or female.
i don't own a nwt or any bible anymore, so can someone look in a concordance and find that scripture for me?
i'd really appreciate it.. and please, if i remember this jw belief incorrectly, please set me straight..

In Matthew 22:29 it reads: In Reply Jesus said to them: "You are mistaken, because You know neither the Scriptures not the power of God."
and the reference given is H which equals Mark 12:24 and Mark 12:24 refers to Matt. 22:29 and Luke 20:34. So the question arises, just which scripture is Jesus talking about???

Intelligent JWs only outside the KH?
by GapingMouth inhi to everyone out there and thanks for all the amazing posts on here i read every day.. there are a few people in my area that i would consider intelligent - there is one guy who used to be a chemistry teacher, for example.
another one knows his sciences too, and his job revolves around that knowledge.. but he confuses me a little... he knows all this stuff and then at the same time he completely ignores it and casts it aside and says the earth is only 7000 years old.
(yes, he holds to this - he told me himself and grew annoyed when i tried to show that the new wts leave it a little more open for explanation -- the bible agree with science 'special' one for example).

it's because their minds have been diluted from trhinking clearly on any issue that disagrees with the society. They can't allow themselves to go beyond the brainwashing that has happened, it would take them out of that numbed/comfort zone they are in and they can't hankle it and won't until something happens to them or to a loved one.

when a religion
by ssn587 ini am wanting to know when the ibs became a religion, it my thought that up until awhile in the 1920s, the society was just a publishing company not hiding behind the idea of being a religion.
so when did they become one in actuality?
i know they claim that when jesus came in 1918 to judge all the religons he found them and appointed them as his fds in 1919. but really all nonsense aside, just when did they officially become a religion?.

what I meant by officially, is that when the U.S. Government recognized them as an religion. 1931 is too late, but then again I don't know myself forl sure that is whey I am on here to try and find out.
